So, um, for the guy’s adrenal fatigue issue… I think his plan with the walking is a good start. Not sure about his ditching regular weight training, but more walking is pretty much never a bad call.
My first instinct would’ve been to check stimulant use, but he said he’s not a heavy coffee drinker, so unless he’s having it late in the day, not likely a big factor.
I think that you must really produce a lot of cortisol and also suffer from systemic inflammation. I would recommend a plan similar to BDW (low volume) BUT with two modifications:
Train 3-4 days a week (ideally on non-consecutive days)
Don’t go to failure (even with rest/pause sets), always stop around 1 or even 2 reps short of failure.
