Nice pull! How is your bench so close to your deadlift?[/quote]

it’s in my log… but in a nutshell

  1. Never trained deadlift/squat or any lower body my whole life. At 32 decided to change that. Now 34 things finally starting to improve as shown above. Have Trained upper body off n on since highschool. So one has irreplaceable base strength. …one there does not!

  2. Long torso/ short arms are great leverage for bench. Bad leverage for conventional dead.

  3. already said this but…it’s so true. The base strength built early in life is irreplaceable. I had none and it’s been a bear to build this late in the game.

Way to be a bear then. Really, good for you, carry on.

Was pretty pleased with this set. 227.5kg/502lb x3 in a new shirt. As I mention on the video, I picked my butt up a little for the touch, but nonetheless, first time I have ever repped this weight.

Finally squatted 500 lbs @197 lbs morning weight. Did 445, 455, 465, and 475 all for 2 before the 500 lb attempt.

Nice Berg! That looked pretty deep too.

Thank you sir. Living and learning these two years has taught me alot. As has compulsively reading every bit of Info I can… … both articles and advice given by guys such as yourself.

Closing in on 700

Body weights down and ass crack game is up

I know this isn’t much, but I squatted 135lbs x 25
Which is like 4 pounds over my body weight for 25
so that’s like squatting myself wearing steel toed boots for 25 reps

YAY

I know I have post this in a few other places already but am way proud of it. First time ever having over 635 on my back with out a reverse band or something. 650lbs Squat @ 213

Awesome job Reed! 610 Pause squat.

375 floor press a 20lb PR. Also hit 320x5 a 15lb PR, 330x3 a 10lb PR and 280x10 a 10lb PR. All is the same day.

620 DL, easy stuff. Now that my form is ironed out I’m looking at 650ish at the meet, then 700 by the end of the year.

High Bar Squat PR…worked up to a top set of 300 for 5. Starting to regain some confidence in my squatting.

Paused bench 375x3. Not sure what my previous triple PR was because I don’t do them that often.

Hit a 30 lb front squat PR a couple days ago. I feel really good about breaking 400 on back squat next month (hit 390 about a month ago). I could only match my bench PR of 275 from 6 months ago but I’m still happy with that. It feels good to be back on track.
