Greeting folks,
I’m currently 3 weeks into a cycle of tren a,test cyp, dbol (first 30 days only) and 10iu HGH (5 on 2 off).
I started the cycle to coincide with the start of a 5 x 5 stronglifts programme.
My Q is as follows:
as I’m not really struggling at all with the weights (start light on Stronglifts!) on the 5 x 5 yet have I wasted the first three weeks of AAS etc use?
Should I have waited until I was actually having to work before I started the Aas etc?
Any thoughts?
Cheers
RH
maybe. Even if you did there’s no reason you can’t make a ton of progress over the course of your cycle.
lift weights that are challenging. Remember you will be gaining strength faster than the writer of stronglifts would’ve expected so adjust accordingly.
I’m going to play dumb;
Why are you doing a beginners program and using AAS and HGH?
I assume that you have a relatively long training bases (4-5 years min) and have just stopped making gains (or very very slow gains) so that AAS are a reasonable next step to continue to develop?
OR
I could flame you for being a fucking idiot - which is what most people are going to think you are.

That did make me chuckle!! I’m 40+ and have trained for 20+ years, used gear/HGH for past 7-8 years. I’ve always done a “bodybuilding,” routine and have not made what I consider to be appropriate gains. This is my second Stronglifts “cycle,” as the first one allowed me to increase my max lifts by a significant (30+KG’S on some lifts) amount. In a nutshell I’ve never trained for strength before and I’m now hooked. I wouldnt say its a beginners programme either to be honest. The first time I done Stronglifts was gear free hence my question.
None offence taken
That’s actually a really interesting idea, to go back to a beginners program on cycle. The drugs should allow you to progress very quickly. My only concern would be that the routine is not particularly high volume, so you aren’t fully taking advantage of the growth potential, but the lower volume is probably a really nice break for someone who is 40+ and has trained like a BBer for a while.

I have to say its working a treat - I dont think going back to basics is a bad thing at all. Also with squatting 3 x a week my mid section is as tight and abs more visible than they’ve ever been. I lift Tues/Thurs and Sunday - on the Sunday as I have a bit more time I add 5 x 5 weighted dips and 5 x5 weighted chins as I also think volume is a bit light for on cycle. I also train 5+hrs BJJ a week so I get a good workout in that respect as well.
