Training Legs

Walking lunges are my fave…I’m finally getting a booty because of them.

Not that dudes care about getting a booty… or do they? But you better step it up Akuma…Im gunning for 135…I’m @100 now!

What’s everyone think of this for a leg day? I’ve always needed to bring up my hamstrings… It’s what i started doing a few weeks ago. Is this balanced or am I missing something?

Squats to parallel
5x5

Lunges holding DBs
3x6/leg

Glute/Ham Raise
3x10 holding a 25lb

Leg press
1x20 feet close together

Can you make a “fuck your fiance’s mom and sister” thread?

Hey eeu, what’s your cock measure? Looking good in your avatar.

Just curiosity.

Haha, not so subtle, but that’s okay.

I lol’d, but only for a brief moment, because it was just too easy

OK, was away the entire day so i got some catching up to do. Lets attack this in sections-

JaseHxC- id say high weight, high reps. Work with what you got. The Machine Ham curls i have to do all cap out too early for my strength, so i end up doing 4 sets for 15 reps. Hams are a Nail, HAMMER the fuck out of them.

Professor X- Thank you man, i really mean that. A little recognition goes a long way with me. Sometimes people see me trying to help them as me saying “Hey im better than you!” while its just me trying to help.

waylanderxx- Lunges, 1 legged leg presses, 1 legged leg extensions. Id say throw a couple more reps on your weak leg, AND also START with your weaker leg when doing 1 legged exercises.

eeu743- My legs measure 29 unpumped. My calves…which i just measured RIGHT this sec out of curiosity, are 19inch…Holy shit…thats an inch in a month…awesome. My squats arent too heavy, ranging around 400, though my reps arent less than 8. I really only started squatting properly recently. im still trying to hit 500, but honestly i need to buy a belt before i try that one lol. Also My squat form is Down to the ground, I literally am an inch or so away from the stoppers on a standard squat rack on my squats. Yes some may mock my Bench form, but the truth of the matter is, I CANT GET MUCH LOWER THAN THAT. Say what you will/believe what you want.

mom-in-MD- Lol i suppose i could try 185 (I only bump by 25s and 45s. 35s are for standing on and everything else is a waste of space, cuz honestly, in my eyes, if you can bump by 35, you can make it 45. MAN UP…Or…WOMAN UP!) Ill let you know if that pans out lol.

Ct. Rockula- Ill get hot on it…

Way Again- Quit the thread-jacking, you thieving whore…

Hmm…and here i thought this thread would get the most attention since, lets face it, most people fail when it comes to their legs. =(

I think it’s like 6.5. I dunno tho cause it curves down so it’s not like I can get a straight measurement. I think it’s pretty average but I’ve never gotten anything but good reviews, so I’m satisfied, ya know? I see the latent homosexuality is still bubbling up at times.

Sweet backne bro.

damn, 29. Do you have any pictures? do you know your bodyfat %? haha I’m asking a lot of questions just because it is nice to see someone with good legs, who does squats right, and doesn’t embellish the numbers either. I definitely believe that you can squat deep with 400 pounds, and that IS heavy. I’ve never seen someone who could do that, in person. very impressive.

I wasn’t mocking your form at all, just curious to know if you were shorter on the squats too. Trust me, I’ll mock you for whining about being bored, but you’re clearly a big, strong guy, and it’s pretty cool.

eh not a great pic, simple side shot. I believe i also have some shots up on my profile that show a little leg, nothing crazy. Dont really plan on taking good leg shots/full body shots til i drop the bf, tan up, and shave (im furry =( ) And my bf is about 20.

Also, I’m assuming you do back squats, at least some times? If you have a recent max, what is it? Or how much have you worked with, if a max isn’t available?
Finally, I definitely agree with your statement about squats being done wrong by most. How would you describe your form? It sounds like you’re really getting down in the hole. Not to suggest anything, I just remember seeing a video of your pressing where you didn’t have much of a ROM, although it was still impressive because of the weight.

Just curiosity.[/quote]

Speaking of curiosity, I wouldn’t mind hearing what you do for legs…your quads look great in your avatar.

Back squats, front squats, leg press, leg extensions, romanian deadlifts, leg curls. Not all of those every time, but those are basically all of the leg exercises I have used with any consistency since I started training. I’ve put considerably more time and effort in to squatting, and learning how to squat, than I have any other exercise. I take everything seriously, but squats are just on another level. We’ve always practiced good form, and are always looking to improve it. I started off with probably 65 pounds, doing it right, and struggling, and I have just worked my way up, sometimes having to drop down again to fix form, and it’s been slow but steady progress. I’m squatting somewhere around 225 now, for reps, and while I’d like it to be higher, I’ve had some really bad pain in my back when squatting for a while now, so while I tinker with my form to try to get rid of the pain, progress has been slow.

I attribute most of my leg development to squatting deep. They are probably the body part I am most proud of, although some people like waylander would tell you I have no semblance of a physique, or something like that. Other things, like leg pressing, heavy, for high reps, with a big ROM, have helped, but squats are definitely king. I think that Akuma and I probably train similarly, albeit he is considerably bigger and stronger.

yeah, clearly pretty big and impressive. I don’t think it’s possible to do good squats, with 400 pounds, while eating enough to grow, without getting big legs. Would definitely like to see pictures when you cut down. And yeah, tanning makes a huge difference lol. Not that that’s not common knowledge. But yeah, when you do cut down and do some grooming, you should definitely make a thread and get some sweet complimentz

Calves suck, hams suck, quads are decent I guess:
Have started training calves 5 days a week, so maybe that will help them.

Pic about a month old, have added some veins since then.

Amonero, those are cut quads. You don’t seem to carry too much fat :stuck_out_tongue:

Akuma: I can’t really add anything new to this thread, I do the basic excersises, squats-front squats, single leg extensions and lunges, stiff-leg deadlifts, though recently I discovered, that I can get a pretty brutal inner-thigh workout in sumo stance deadlifts (not to mention, that due to my long arms, I can move the most weight on this excersise, thus polishing my ego, lol)

For calves: I usually train them either at the beginning of leg day (I’d be spent after doing quads and hams, thus it’s better to hit them with full focus and attention) or on other training days. I need to bring them up, somehow, they were much larger when I was 100 pounds heavier (though it wasn’t muscle, hehe)

My quads were lagging too a year ago. I couldn’t squat with a decent form, felt uncomfortable, (of course I had no depth at all, not to mention it resembled more a good-morning than a squat), but I fixed some issues, re-learnt how to squat, and now they’re pretty decent compared to my other muscles. Although I still find front-squats to be easier, and not so taxing on the lower-back.

Hamstrings: I had no problem whatsoever developing them, they’re probably my strongest muscle group, and I’ve only done leg curls with deadlifting variations for them (like, I think, most of the people would do). Also, I think, squatting to full depth contributes to a greater overall leg-developement, as down in the hole you’ll get your hamstrings into work very hard. Though when someone wants to “isolate” the quads, it wouldn’t be the best choice.

Every once in a while I visit other gyms, equipped with leg press, hack squat machines and smith cage, I never miss the oportunity to incorporate them into my legwork. I rarely have the chance doing so, but I’ve found, that wm’s on the leg press, or hack machine would be a sure way improving quads.

Olympic lifters legs are proof that dead lifts/ power cleans and squats are responsible for building mass and strength in the thighs, I’m not yet at the stage where I need to shape my thighs, I’m just aiming for the stage where I have to wear jogging bottoms (I think you guys call them sweat pants?) because jeans don’t fit me , then I’ll start shaping!

Serious thigh mass…

Front and back…

I’ve come to the conclusion that if shopping for a pair of jeans is easy, you’re not working your legs enough.

^^This. Levis 569’s are really the only thing I have been able to find. Not as big as some of the bigger guys but 26" is still hard to fit into jeans.
