Aww you looked shocked when the log came falling down. That was scary for me =(

Those million calories sound yummy and fueled some good training.

haha not really shocked just laughing at myself. My mom says the same thing lol

They where good! Got taken out for lunch again at work today I guess its free meal week.

tootlieeeeeeeeeee dooooooo

SO hard to take a damn rest day! But it is for the best. Traveling Sunday morning to do a run through of the contest with the contest equipment. So I will damn near be competing so I need a break. Friend said I need to hit 260log 700 yoke 570 deadlift and move the 320 each hand farmers. ITS GETTING DONE.

Was watching the 1977 World Powerlifting Championships when PL was on TV. WOW loved the lifting back then! Vince Annello was a straight beast. and Doug Young lifting that much in that much pain WOW.

I got a date with a hot epsom salt bath because thats how I party.

Bryant Gumbel sounded a little out of place lol. I’m positive he called the squat a “deadlift” several times.

He sure did, he even referred to the squat as a pull. Funny

Have fun tomorrow. When is the actual contest?

PRs are fun so I will have fun.

Very cool, you’ll have more than enough time to smash those numbers and then some.

Thats whats going down tomorrow!

LWI!

Hope you had a nice bath.

I hope you banana-and-honey’d up and killing those numbers today =D

Thanks girls!

Bath was good glad I did because my low back was still TIGHT when I woke up. The fact my phone died in the middle of the night and my alarm didn’t go off and I woke up 10 minutes before I needed to leave 10 minutes ago probably didn’t help.

drove an hour away met up with the guys I was driving up with… Another 2 hours in the truck then event time! Wish I had honey & bananas I need to plan better for these long days

Started off with a bunch of bullshitting that went well then moved onto Log Presses

Went

115
165
185
205
225
245
265xfail
265xfail

No POP from my legs
waited… watched the HW’s hit some sick #s

Took my shirt off

255x1 GRIIIIIIIIIIIINDA but still most weight I’ve ever lifted I’ll take it

Think the log was rolling down my shirt cleaned it much better with no shirt

Yoke time

These Yokes where beautiful I haven’t yoked heavy since Nats so kinda dreading this.

yoke felt awfuul on warmups. did a a run with 540ish?

went up to the contest weight

700

oh boy this sucked I finally got a good pick then took it step by step and got about 20ft? Never walked with 700 so its a start. My yoke knot the raised bump on my neck that is permanently there I think tripled in size.

Deadlift

worked up to 500x1 My low back was smoked and i loaded 530 on the bar went to lift it but shut it down. I got 5 weeks for that

Farmers picks
each hand
230x2
275x1 easy
320xalmooooooooooooost damn grip is improving very happy with this. I feel like I could have moved pretty good with 275. I will at least get some points with the 320 come contest time.

Considering how beat I was and 300x1 is the most I have done previous I’ll take this attempt at 40lbs more.

320 farmers pick........ - YouTube

Grip slipped in my right hand with the injured thumb it hurt after this attempt.

Hit up a Chinese buffet after training by the time I got home I ate a large pizza and a pint of ben & Jerry’s trying to make up for not eating!

I am going to feel GREAT in the morning

close…

forgot the pic stupid me!

So, you got those PRs without any food? Amazing.

I could imagine that your lower back was fried. I’m sure you’ll get more rest between the lifts at the actual meet though. Awesome work, PRs everywhere. The food sounds delicious and well-deserved.

Thanks feel surprisingly good today my traps neck and upper back are pretty sore but not bad. change things up a bit this week since I went heavy then the last push with 4 weeks of training

Close Grip Bench Press

135x5
185x3
205x3
235x5
add slingshot
235x5
235x5
255x1
275x1
300x1

that was kinda cool. I got to cheat to use grown up weights

DB Flies

Hammer curls

Done Done!

It’s not cheating, eccentric work is very good for muskels =D

That’s good that you had something, but enjoy a nice carb-y breakfast for the meet in July.

Its making my triceps stronga all I know

Yes LOTS of food before the comp and until then. I weighed 193 this morning

More cheating tonight with reverse band deadlifts. Never done them before but Have wanted to for along time.

Reverse Band deadlift
Needed to switch things up a bit this week, have wanted to try reverse bands for awhile.

I first set up the bands on the top of the rack and the bar with 225 was barely staying on the ground and still giving help at lockout. That would have been cool for an ego stroking but I don’t think thats how its supposed to be so I looped the bands around the pins on the top setting 135 stayed on the ground so prolly 100-120lbs of help at the bottom, full weight at lockout

135x3
225x3
315x3
405x1
495x1
545x1
585x1

cool…

Pendlay rows

225 3x10 or 9 if I cant count

Stone trainer

3 plates 3x8

Standing band ab pulldowns

average band 3x15 ab pump!!

short and sweet, perfect as this will be a semi deload for me to heal up a bit before the big push for the comp
