not much training going on, yesterday did basic crap with 135 to stay loose. donāt think its worth logging that I went for a walk.

yup, tomorrow, pretty excited eating 1 more meal then going to sleep. Got to wake up early for the 2 hour drive. Weight is 190 but 188 nekkid and thats what counts. Didnāt meet my goal of 190+ but 10lbs in 6 weeks aināt bad. Good thing all that matters is the weight I lift.

thanks. Not great news but not as bad as it seemed like it was going.
I screwed my first squat attempt up real bad, (403lbs) tweaked something in my groin. I didnāt set up right, rushed it, to far forward bla bla
Went for my second attempt. It was a grinder but stood up with it. Got two reds for depth. Oh well. missed the 3rd⦠By now you cant get a total and I think your not able to lift after bombing out so I thought my day was over. They asked me if I still wanted to bench and dead of course said yes so big thanks for that!
Lowered my bench to a really small 187 just cause I wanted to big real real safe. felt like I could do it for 10 (cause I can?) went to 220. EASY went 242.5 again EASY had more in me haha who knew bench would go the best for me? My best ever gym bench is 245 and 242 with a pause was cake.
Opened at 455 on the deadlift, which didnāt feel great. went 501.5 on the second attempt and I made it real hard, haha again on my toes. said fuck it and go for 545.5 same bad setup on my toes might as well had been 800. haha
Still fun day, learned stuff. Have new things to work on, thats why competing makes you a better lifter. exploits your weaknesses for the public to see. 1 day I will be good at the whole competing thing and not just the training part
Aww things sounded tough with the squat, you were maybe just a wittle ambitious with the 403 as first attempt. Back squats suck for the groin area. Ugh
But itās a good thing you kept going. The bench is awesome.

Yeah only way you can be. How I have always taken bad strongman meets.
Yea no deadlft platform but it was ran real well i think and had over 40 lifters and a lot of people in a fairly small gym. It was SPF, might do another meet soon or go back to concentrating 100% on strongman not sure.
I know the bench video isnāt working. It keeps failing the processing.
Well turns out I felt off for a reason. I had been feeling a little fatigued and have been wanting to do nothing but sleep the couple days leading up to the meet. the night before I had a small red bump on my stomach right under my chest that looked like a spider bite. Well I wake up Monday morning and it spread, had no idea what it was. Turns out I got shingles⦠Never gotten them before I guess it happens due to stress and weakened immune system. Stuff has been pretty stressful lately but I have been WAY more stressed out then this in the past.
I now feel like complete crap, just no energy, tired, lack of appetite. I think I have to take at least a week off from lifting which really sucks after taking a week off to be rested for the meet.
taking mega lysine, etc right now. I guess Iāll get some meds from the DR tomorrow to recover faster.

Thanks, at least I have a reason why it went badly. Just a bump in the road! Seem to be getting better all ready taking this week off and be back at it next week. I did have some really amazing sushi tonight so its not all bad!
I had to do something, lots of stuff is out of the option, even this probably wasnāt the best idea. I felt like doodie. I thought I could have benched around 250-260 at the meet judging by this I could have.

This sushi was ridiculous. Its hard to even describe, it was a special called āthe volcanoā so it had rolls on the bottom then 2-3 types of raw tuna cut in small pieces piled on top into a peak, with fish eggs and wasabi fish eggs at the top and a really good sauce drizzled over the whole thing. Lots of great sushi spots out here, I love it.
haha this is how I deload! thats all I will do all week, on antibiotics and fighting off a virus I canāt do much so just doing 1 exercise isnāt much.
Thanks about the bench, just trying to say i am getting close to a point where when people ask me how much I bench the number isnāt embarrassing. Analogy didnāt work, I forget your 20 or something sometimes.

Did I mention it was such a big plate I didnāt even finish it because I just got done eating dinner and 10 minutes later got a call asking if I wanted to get some sushi? two dinners within an hour and my bodyweight was 191 this morning. I ate the rest when I got home
I might not look good in a bikini but thats the fun of being a strongman/whatever else I do.
