Track Your Wins šŸ‘Š

Big win. I mean, Parent stuff masters level win.

I fixed a kinky slinky. This is actually the second time, but I thought the first one was an anomaly.

Note to self: Use term ā€œkinky slinkyā€ in another context.

It could also be a walk. You know, the one that tells you :+1:. The kinky slinky walk.

 im a goof.

I hate that I know this, but there is another context.

I have always believed this was not possible.

Iā€™ve tried dozens of times and failed. Then it just appeared clear as day how to unkink the slinky. A true ā€œAha!ā€ moment, at least for me.

Why are we kink shaming slinkys?

I blame Trent Reznor for this downward spiral.

I used to work out of an incubator kitchen in San Francisco. That was located directly across the street from this building.

Since their clients went through some rigorous workouts, they would want food delivered afterwards. Thatā€™s where I learned about slinkies.

Thats the hardcore dungeon!

A lot of them would need hydration after those sessions too.:skull:

I not familiar with where slinkies fall in the nomenclature though.

Edit:

Found it.

I had a feeling you would be the first one to put it together.

I learned how to hard boil eggs without the green ring that shows up when you overcook them, and then deviled them for a game night.

I usually hate single-purpose kitchen appliances but those egg steamers are amazing for consistent ā€œboiledā€ eggs. They play a little song when the eggs are done and you can dump them straight into ice-water afterward.

This is key for easy peeling. If you dont have a steamer, hard boil some water, drop the eggs (having a spider helps,) 12 minutes for hard boiled, 7 for soft yolks, in the ice bath and youā€™re golden.

Iā€™m curious about what Dani did, they look great and I would eat the entire tray.

Do you know how this changes with altitude? Iā€™m pretty sure Dani is at 5,000 feet or so.

(But mostly Iā€™m just curious.)

Maybe by a minute. Eggs are small.

Unless youre dumb like me and cooked a few ostrich eggs for fun.

See? A minute either way will work fine.

There are variables like egg size, age, temperature, shell thickness due to the chickenā€™s diet, that can make a difference bit unless itā€™s molecular gastronomy itā€™s not worth sweating over. Yolk fat content is what I look for (mostly sous vide is an issue since the yolks set faster than the whites, so thatā€™s a little more finicky.)

Anyway, back to the deviled eggs and more wins.
