Toxic-People Victims Support Group

All of us have been victimized by toxic-people.
This thread is for us to obtain responses to them.

The TP are our enemies trying to destroy us. We have to crush them.

This is what I do:
There is a girl where I work that always bring “treats” for us. I taste them and make a scene, telling her that it tastes like shit and throw away the whole thing in front of her. Any other suggestions?

“you heard the saying, you are what you eat? Looking at you, I am positive I will not eat that.”

I’m not sure that is the best way to handle the situation…

Thats a bit overboard. Remember the part about who in fact may be the toxic element of a situation.

The best move I have learned is to control who I expose myself to and place limits on my tolerance of people and their behaviors. I can’t control what other people do, but I can control myself and my interaction with others.(for the most part)
Making a big deal out of something like that snack thing seems like a reaction formation.

Also, watch out for self righteous indignation and identifying yourself as a victim. You might end up creating victims.

“They look wonderful but no thanks…I am on a strict diet.”

Good Karma for everyone. Giving co-workers treats is a nice thing to do. Politely declining is just good manners.

Funny.

If your plan was to do the worst thing possible then you have done well my friend.

Honestly, just say you don’t have a sweet tooth. It can be a lie but anytime you bring up that you are dieting, some people will get defensive. In my case since I am relatively thin, it is very difficult for me to justify watching what I eat in a group of fatties. I simply avoid the debate.

Uh, I’m thinking no one caught my sarcasm. Seriously, working at a cop shop where donuts grow on tabletops and pizzas just appear from thin air, I always look at it longingly, put my hand to my stomache and say “wow that looks great, too bad I just got done eating, I couldn’t possibly put another bite in.”

Since in their opinion I’m eating all the time, they make the connection and move on with the platter.

I’d like to be victimized by Britney Spears.

We are talking about her song right?

Haha nice. Create a territory for eating where fat/weak people are not allowed to enter. This way you don’t even have to fraternize with those inferior fools. Ha!

Your approach is good though. Stick with it if it’s working.

a little esoteric. Not too bad.
Just remember to double wrap…cause I think there might be something “toxic” in Britney.
Besides the alien fetus.

I’m reminded of a scene from the greatest movie ever made. That’s right, Napoleon Dynamite.

The scene I am reminded of is the one in which Napoleon asks for a “Vote for Summer” button. Upon receiving the button, he turns around and throws it as hard as he can down the hall. Then he runs up the stairs.

Not sure what that has to do with sweets, but neither really serves a purpose.

She may not be getting the point. Perhaps you should throw it AT her?

OR

Do this. When someone grabs one and starts munching, start laughing. And then when they say “What’s so funny?”, you say, “Oh nothing. I was watching Tommy Boy the other day … there’s this part where Chris Farley is eating peanut M&Ms, and David Spade says to him ‘I can just HEAR you getting fatter’. Not that you are fat or anything.” Then walk off.

I thought I was a d!ck until I read your post. But it was pretty entertaining.

BFG

Actually, just yourself will suffice.
