9-.4.20 before starting trt
If youâre having cortisol issues and you think thatâs a symptom of something bigger then you do what any good scientist would do: test your hypothesis. Lower your cortisol (11-ketotestosterone is your best and safest bet) and see if it makes you feel better. If if doesnât and cortisol is still high then something is causing that. But if it drops and you feel better then youâll have found your answer.
I believe my cortisol is too low to begin with. Itâs supposed to be at it highest in the morningâŠbasically our energy for the day and fights inflammation and fight or flight response. So I donât want to lower it even more. Unless itâs ass backwards and low in the am and higher at night.
The difference between peak and trough arenât going to be dramatically different injecting 3x weekly.
Gotcha. I misread your statement and had it reversed in my brain. Apologies.
Your potassium is low, thatâs a red flag
That could be a problem.
Liver is ALT, AST , kidney is a mixture of several of those, esp the egfr. 66 seems to be on the low end.
I think you may have put a monkey wrench in your body with starting trt.
Whatâs your blood pressure?
Also, you canât have low cortisol in the morning. Something needs to be done. Your Cortisol was probably high for a long time, stress, weight, etc. Then it crashes.
Maybe medications side affect?
Man this is tough. Keep researching and get answers.
You can take medication to increase cortisol but that usually causes weight gain.
Also, have dr order renal ultrasound I think that one includes adrenals (make sure) which sit on top of kidneys.
Hey thanks! Yea my potassium is up to 3.5-3.8 but I am on two potassium pills. Endo thinks itâs because of my blood pressure medicine is a diuretic. However I believe it is more than that or I need to get pottasium level up more because I still cramp like a sob!
I told him that I am showing signs of dehydration and I think that is playing a roll in my high hemocrit as well.
He ruled out adrenal gland with the atch test saying they went up when they added that. My problem is he didnât test the acth levels before the test. That is how you check for secondary adderall disease.
Basically the pituitary tells when to send acth to raise your cortisol levels but he never checked it. When I asked him about it and said could that be connected to why my testosterone is low as well? He blew me off like I had no idea what I was talking about. In the process of getting a second opinion but like I said not any really good doctors for that around here.
My second cortisol am test was 8.6 in the am so technically it is in normal range just super low in range. Yea I have had lots of doses of prednisone in my life. When I said I got sick when I eat well and workout my body wears out or something and I end up with a sinus infection every two to three months. Prednisone is the only thing that works because it lowers my inflammation to get sinuses moving again.
I didnât find out about cortisol stuff until after I had been on trt for awhile. I asked to have it tested after I still felt like crap, fatigue, sick , cramping, and I did my own research.
I think losing weight would fix a lot of my issues. However like I said I get run down quickly have to quit working out because I am just zaped. Then diet food just doesnât cut it when I feel like crap. Still I need to push thru those things and make some serious life changes.
I appreciate all the replies this is why I ask other people just like bouncing ideas off of people and getting ideas of what is happening.
With my my total t still being in mid 400s I just wondered if thatâs why I havenât felt much of a change? A lot of guys say it is life changing and for me nothing yet. Maybe a little stronger in the gym.
That was my experience. Most of my âmultiple and complex problemsâ went away when I started eating right, exercised 5 days a week, lost 50 pounds and got fit. I was previously sick, in general. So, of course I had individual sicknesses. I was fortunate to get healthier, by creating a healthier life.
First of all what brand T are tou taking?
Youâre going to run the longest of marathons. So lets take a seat before you sprint off. Youâre overweight, and no amount of T will change things overnight. So lets get some goalsâŠ
- Inject 200mg/wk
- No AI
- No HCG
- Come up with a food program
- Lift weights only
- Stick to the food program
- Alcohol and weed should drop to zero for 6 months.
- Test again at 12wks
- If you still test low, bump up to 300mg for 12 wks and bust your ass. Keep your doc in the loop! Be amazing and your success story will be in the books. This is about recovery, once you reach that plateau, start looking at improvement. Two very different things. Takes time to unfuck what got fucked over time.
Oh drink water before every BT and you should see your HCT lower. I should post my HCT experiment results.
Is this a joke.
He has possible adrenal problems and his electrolytes are offâŠ
Youâre guessing like the best of them. If thats the case he should not be on TRT, and square that up,but until it is a given, you have to set goals along with concrete medical diagnosis. No guessing. You can say his lungs are the problem why heâs winded, but I bet if he lost weight, he would gain stamina. Shit, all of his systems need the weight off.
What is diet food? Do you mean non junk food? You mentioned you get zapped working out? What is the routine you are following? I usually would like to see a photo of the person asking for help. Your weight and height can lead people to the wrong conclusions.
And no offense to you, but it has been mentioned before that people come on here asking for help without mentioning from the beginning they have other health issues and are other medications. This all comes into play.
Basically by that I mean I cut out sugar. Eat higher protein mid fats and lower carbs. Try to keep carbs at 50-60 grams. First 2-3 weeks feel pretty good and lose weight. Slowly I get worn down and start getting sinus infections ect. Maybe I am cutting too fast? About 1800 calories.
About 5 -6 years ago I lost 47 pounds and was looking pretty good. Problem was I had to starve myself to get down to 200. Once I got there I couldnât lose anymore. Slowly went back to eating the same way and gained twice as much back.
I havenât been diagnosed with adrenal fatigue they say I passed the test. Personally I am looking to get a second opinion.
Yea I suppose thatâs my fault not mentioning every thing. I was just trying to see peopleâs thoughts on why it is taking so much testosterone for me.
I have high blood pressure, I am a smoker and need to quit just canât get it done yet. I take Lexapro generic for anxiety for about 12 years now. Lungs are shot from smoking but I feel like the extra weight makes it even harder on my lungs.
When I am feeling ok I lift weights 5-6 days a week usually about 45 minutes in my home gym. I havenât been doing any cardio but this last week I did six out of 7 days. I am hoping that helps my lungs and helps with the hemocrit? Right now cardio is just 15 minutes a day working my way up. It is steady state cardio.
I can lose the weight and do this if I can keep from getting sick. I want this to be a life change vs a diet and then gain it back again.
I wast wondered if my total t being in the 700/ vs 400s would make me feel better. Bummed because the dr nor the endo will tell me why it takes so much testosterone. I donât even know why I am not making testosterone. Ordered a bunch more blood from my regular doctor but he wants to see my first because he isnât sure why I want all this blood work.
If anyone has any recommendations of any blood results I should be checking let me know.
I know this is long winded lol
Typically people who care about their bodies donât smoke. Your first goal should be to quit smoking If you donât want to quit smoking, then there is not much help. Smoking contributes to bacteria growing in the sinus cavity. Loss of lung function limits your oxygen intake and will make you sluggish. Add the extra weight which is zapping your energy. You have allowed your health to snowball out of control. Injecting T is not going to fix you. In fact, injecting T can cause you other issues in addition to the ones you already have.
You also might want to consider consulting a nutritionist and learning about healthy eating. We donât necessarily do âdietsâ here. The food you eat is your diet. By definition of the word. We eat fairly healthy without consuming crap food. This is the life we lead. Not many on here are perfect, small amounts of crap make it into our mouths from time to time.
1800 calories is low in my opinion depending on what exactly you are eating. You can make it work if you understand nutrition and macros.
As far as your original question, I have no idea about your numbers⊠But a higher dose of T is not your answer.
Stop smoking, change your diet, and then exercise. That may help your anxiety.
Yep, bring the smoking down to zero for 1 week. If you cave, start over. Then 1 month, then 2,3 and so on. Keep your dose at 200mg, unless the Doc changes it. No need for more.
Start eating right. Not dieting.
Lift weights 5x5s only. Dont Cardio.
Taper your death stick intake to 0
Enough posting. Get to work.
No, itâs standard procedure with brand-new members only.
This is beyond insane. Youâre overtrained and malnourished, which is no doubt an underlying cause of a ton of your issues. A 300-pounder should not be on 1800 calories per day, let alone someone doing 11-12 workouts per week. Your previous crash diet and subsequent regain demonstrate why.
I suggest starting a new thread so we can focus just on correcting those issues, which will snowball into progress on the hormonal side of things. TRT is the house, but training and diet is the city you live in. Right now, your entire neighborhood is so run down, it makes no sense to worry about why the roof leaks.
If you can be as detailed in explaining your training and diet as youâve been at discussing your TRT, we can actually get you on track.
Before jumping into other solutions for your fatigue and symptoms, keep it simple, and lets get your free t into the 20;s (consistently) so you can actually realize symptom resolution.
Dont go chasing your tail with adrenal fatigue and whatever else until the main hormone is optimized. If you do not notice benefit after a couple or few months, then yes go for it, but I have a feeling you just need more T bro.
