First off, I think many more people would refer to Webster’s dictionary as an arbiter of truth than to some random website run by God-knows-who. Second off, “swallow” is listed as a synonym by your source, not a definition (and a synonym for “to drink”, natch). Synonyms are rough estimates of words, not perfect ones. That’s why back when I was an English teacher (which I was), I could always tell when my students had used the thesaurus function in Microsoft Word to try to sound more erudite. That said, and you vanquished, you still crack me up. I feel as though I have to respect a man who a)claims to be a superhero and b)refuses to admit when he’s obviously wrong on many fronts, so I got nothin’ but love for ya.
