Too many sexy ladies at the gym for me to concentrate!!!

I’m laughing, of course, at the histories of some of the people who sit around correcting use of language…especially regarding the one (you know who you are) who, during a long thread on such corrections, used the spelling ‘grammer.’ You know who you are, my boring little friend…oh wait, you’re not my friend, you’re an anonymous mediocrity. Second, do I even NEED to point out that the dictionary does NOT create language? Language creates itself, and evolves, and dictionaries like the OED are desperately trying to keep up, and are usually a couple decades behind. Of course, some people here are making atrocious errors in their writing out of pure ignorance, but correcting slang is just childish (‘mommy told me not to use that word’). Just to reitorate – Lightandfluffy, you are a classic troll trying to disrupt a board by challenging language on completely fallacious grounds. English will continue changing, and there’s not a damn thing you can do about it…even if the changes can sometimes seem rather trite. Also, Mr. Fluffy, I hope you are aware of your own regular misuse of language, the ‘imbibe’ issue above. That is, unless you want to write a song about when the imbibes come back to Capistrano…
