No worries on that 475 man you definitely have the strength, just got too pumped up it seems! Haha. That 635 RVB squat was BEASTMODE brotha!!
Thanks man. Yeah, the strength is there, but sometimes my brain-power is a little lacking.
Happens to us all brother, dont sweat it!

That camping trip was nice, nice relaxing scenery. Nice lifting as well man.

Awesome trip.

Reverse bands are fun.

Dude, that would be awesome if you were actually able to make it to the meet, I was just throwin that out there.

Nice squats! Looked like a fun trip

Oh, oh that’s funny. Because you’re War, and we gotta be ready for you. Clever haha

Nice squatting. Not thinking happens.
Awesome pics too.

Awesome workouts…for real! You quite the beast

Heracles,
Thanks for the kind words.
Yeah that trip was pretty badass. For the most part, nothing around for miles, and all we had to do was hike/swim/eat and so on. Felt like being a kid again for a few days.

DF,

Reverse bands do indeed kickass. As far as the meet in Rodgers goes, I may actually be able to make it. If so SFW we shall.

Kalle,

Thanks for the encouragement, and it was indeed.

Nikki,

Trying to be clever will be tough with you around. That was even unintentional clever and you still caught it.

BWG,

Thanks. Just doing what I can with what I’ve got.

There are 4 of us from Arkansas that are gonna do it, first meets for all of us…elmore18 on T Nation is one of the 4. Apparently they will have Chik Fil A and Buffalo Wild Wings there…that right there is enough for me.

6/4/11 Reverse band bench and assorted other stuff. Bodyweight dropped to 254.5 this morning somehow. I may actually slow this down a bit.

Video:

Setting this up was one gigantic pain in the ass. After every set it seemed like the bench had to be re-aligned and the bands re-centered. Also, the only move-able benches were the ones with the gigantic gap between the back and the ass pads. Next time, I may see about setting up those cardio boxes as makeshift spot pins so the bands don’t have to be choked around the top of the rack. The amount of weight they took off was just nuts.

BarX20
135X8
225X5
315X3
added Rev. black bands
315X1 Easy, but again set up issues
405X1
455X1
495X1
545X1 Same deal on every set. I’m gonna have to play with this more.

Close grip bench: Just kinda felt like testing this.

barX15
135X8
225X5
315X3
365X1
405X1 then I got greedy and tried for a double. Massive fail.
315X8

Now if I can just remember to tell my spotter to not do the whole “fickle finger” routine 3 inches from my face while I’m benching things will be good.

Ok, so my close grip and wide grip bench 1RM maxes are damn near the same. Rep max is about 4 or so reps lower with close grip. I guess the tricep work I am doing is working.

Dips:

BDW X 12
+100LB DB X5
+150LB DB X4 dammit. I guess I can call this a fatigued PR, as 5 is my best when I am fresh.
+light band X8 for 2 sets
BDW X10 for 3 sets Yeah for da pumpzz

DB preacher curls:

some for 3X8 each arm.

Good day on the whole. Rev. band bench is one weird deal. More experimentation with set up is needed before I can set a true baseline with it though. Otherwise, pretty good day.

METAL:

EDIT: 5 times to get freaking youtube to work.

FTR, I used the gray bands or less when I reverse band bench, the black strong bands are too much help. Otherwise, solid work my friend.

Thanks, and yes, I believe I will be switching to the greys.

Holy shit to the dips man. Just threw on the 100s like nada.

Thanks Nikki. Dips used to be a very weak lift for me. After focusing on them for a bit(and dropping some body mass) they have improved a good bit.

sweet benching! I’m jelly

+150 for dips? That is gnarly! very very impressive my friend

Damn, I run out of comments to make on all you strong dudes here…

Good work!

6/6/11 Reverse band deadlift night. Crowded day in the gym. Not a bad thing though. Bodyweight was 254 even this morning. This was actually up(on purpose) from 252.5 the other day. Slow and steady.

VIDEO:

Deads: with chins for sets of 3 to 5 reps between each set.
135X8
225X5
315X3
405X2
495X1
Added reversed black bands
495X1
585X1
645X1 ← felt very good. Slow and steady bumps.

Pendlay rows: Kept doing chins in between sets.
135X5
225X5
275X5
295X6 cause I can’t count.

Lat pull downs: Here is one I have not done in about a year.

someXsome for 4 sets.

Blast strap fallout planks:

4X5

That was all she wrote. I am really liking this reverse band work. Clean and Jerks on Wend.

Thanks brother. No need to be jelly though.

I did standing single arm shoulder press today, first time in a long while. I noticed a striking resemblance to you while doing it.

I’m catchin up, better start goin harder.

Solid pull btw.

Thanks my friend. Yes, I did indeed see that video. very nice work. Sadly, the highest fixed weight DB I have access to is a 150Lber, so my old right arm PR of 8 with that will have to stand for a while at least. I may make a trip to lows/home depot and scope out some special clamps for my olympic DB handles though. Eventually. I’m gonna run this CL&J thing that I have going for a while before I go back to standing DB overhead work.

I have a feeling you will have caught and surpassed my 150LB DB press by then. Happy hunting my brother.

In the mean time, I am perfectly content to chase your deadlift.

And the more I think about it, the more I want to do that Rodgers meet. If things with work allow, I think it just might happen.
