Didn’t he have serious kidney problems back in the 90’s? surprised he lasted this long. If I remember right he was around the same time as Craig Titus. I always like Prince, massive in his day.
Yes. @simo74
Tom suffered kidney failure while preparing for the 2003 Night Of Champions. There was apparently some genetic issues compounded with drug use, including large doses of ibuprofen he was taking due to injuries.
Yer I remember reading an article where he talked about the doctors reaction to the long list of substances he noted when going into hospital but that the over the counter stuff for the pain ended up being the biggest issue.
I remember that shot from Flex back in the day. Quality
Always sad to see a younger guy go. I remember he seemed to be a regular in Flex articles in the mid to late '90s.
And those hamstrings. Yeesh.
Kidney failure in 2003, transplant in '12. Reports are that he passed away from some kind of cancer he’d been fighting the last couple of years.
Using Ibuprofen may lead to decrease blood flow (vasoconstriction) to the kidneys by blocking of prostaglandins, which means a lack of oxygen to keep the kidneys alive. Definitely something to be wary of if you have a genetic predisposition to kidney disorders.
