So BF is a tad less than the last time I saw him. I’ll go back for another check in about 3 weeks.
Soooooo tired! I’m sitting here with my head fallen back, looking like a larger, tatooed Stephen Hawking as I type this! I’m gonna take tomorrow off for sure. 11:30 tomorrow = sports massage!!
Ok so the reason I went to a physiotherapist yesterday was because recently I took a back shot of myself and noticed that my spine is quite curved and that my shoulders tilt to one side. I read some stuff a while back that talks of tight muscles pulling you out, causing bad posture and what not. It made sense that the tight back and traps were the likely cause of the tilt. I might not be able to do much about the curving of the spine. Its a result of the Schuman’s Disease I was diagnosed with last year.
The physiotherapist took one look at me from the back and confirmed it. She then gave me one hell of a massage. 50 minutes of elbow digging pain later, my posture looked much better. Obviously it wouldn’t last so I have some stretches to do for my trap, I need to take my focus off of pressing big for a while and focus on strengthening my rhomboids, lower traps (same thing?) and rear delts. Also, I need to stretch my pec minor.
Its funny, all these things I’ve read about countless times but didn’t think for one second was a problem for me simply because I never saw myself from the back. I’ve also noticed a similar problem in a friend a while back but he shrugged it off when I told him about it. This would also be a good idea to address the problem with my hip alignment (can’t remember the name of the problem. Scor… sci…bleh…) and in doing so get some serious abzzzz going on up in here!!
So my TO DO list is:
-Loosen up traps. Mostly for the left side.
-Strengthen rhomboids.
-Practice forcing my shoulders to align when standing, sitting, walking etc.
-Loosen up pec minor.
-Sort out hip alignment.
-Get cut for summer!!!
I’m going back for another session with her in about 2 weeks. Probably every 2-3 weeks for quite some time.
Oh and no more powerlifting type training for me. Not that I was really training like one but HEAVY squats are out. I don’t really deadlift anymore anyway so thats fine but random 250kg pulls are out haha.

I woke up at least 4 times last night with the worst stomach aches ever but I managed to have a decent AM session. High reps on everything including squats which petty much killed me. I don’t think I’ll be going in for the PM workout. I’ll rather stay in and get over this shit so I can plow hard through the weeks ahead.

As far as intensity goes… I had one hell of an AM workout!!
Started off with some HIIT - probably the hardest I’ve pushed myself on that. Gama Bomb to push me through!
Some other high rep shit with almost no rest in between.
3 plate back squats. 1st set I got 15 reps with more in me but I just couldn’t keep my breathing steady. I nearly blacked out at the end. Last rep flew up though, I think it might have been faster than the 1st!! Every rep was tight and ATG! 2nd set I got 10. Personal best is still 18 though. As far as form and depth go, I think this was my best set of squats ever.
Some other stuff after that.
I don’t think I’ve ever been so tired in my life! Destroyed me more than my heavy circuit workouts!
Some 7 foot teenage douchebag kept trying to intimidate me or something. He kept coming right up next to me in between sets to rest, sticking his chest out and shit and throwing weights down like some angry reject. Too bad he can’t complete a full rep on a two plate flat bench.
Ok. I have accepted the step machine as the superior form of cardio! Well, it destroys me in a matter of minutes. And it seems like there is NO EASY LEVEL!!! Its hell… period! I’m not switching to it though, I’m simply adding it in. With just 7 and a half weeks left, I’m really gonna have to step it up.
Its a little annoying though. I have to play twice this week and go do photoshoots so I can’t do 2x a day training really again until Saturday. Gotta make every workout count. Time to nut up or shut up! Possible morning cardio too…

I REALLY want to be under 111 by Monday.
Took yesterday off and I’m taking today off too. I just had to give my legs a break from all the cardio and regular squats. Getting right back into the thick of things first thing tomorrow morning. Currently weigh 111 on the dot. I think that puts me at around 17.1% BF. If I can drop another 7kgs in the next 7 weeks (definitely achievable considering I’ve been dropping 1 per week so far) then I think that would put me at 10-11% BF. I THINK…
If I’m calculating it right, I started this journey at just over 25% BF.
Its time to up the intensity even more! I’ll go in for an update with Andy on the 20th. This shit is making me seriously moody haha. Gonna be worth it an the end though! Eyes on the prize!!!
Dare I say it… I’m actually starting to like cycling (both SS and HIIT) more than weight training!!! A bit of a lol moment - I only today realized the bikes and treadmills have presets haha. Normally I just hop on, bump up the level and start moving. Found one HIIT preset that I really like for right after 20 minutes of fairly fast SS. This way I pretty much have no choice but to do it because the levels are set and I can’t change them!
I enjoyed the TBT for a while but now I’m just sick of it. Back to a push/pull type of routine. I will adjust it as I go along. Still pretty fast paced though. I’ve also introduced morning jogs. I just have a brisk walk to a park nearby and then jog/run a few laps around it.
My knees, shins and right achilles don’t last very long so the running ends when I feel it should. Usually only 2 laps around the park but I’m not running fit so at least I’m still pretty tired after.

Go buy a basketball and on the weekend shoot some hoops with like me, chris, kyle and so forth. 2 hours of that you will be shredded! haha lot of vitamin d, set plays, like 2 on 2. Short bursts of sprints for the ball and jumping around… good cardio

PM session today was 70 minutes on the stationary bike. 20m SS - 10m HIIT - 20m SS - 10m HIIT - 10m cooldown. Kinda loved it!!!
