What’s people’s opinions on tanning?
Worth the risk? Don’t believe there is much of a risk?
Everything in moderation?

You should PM Rohnyn for advice.
id use tanning beds! (i hope vegita sees that)
Tanning beds are a waste of money in my opinion. Just be yourself, if you spend a lot of time at the beach or a pool and get a tan, great, if not, great. Personally I’m very very tan and have an even worse farmer’s tan. I like the beach and pools but I hate just sleeping in the sun like some people. More than 15 minutes in direct sunlight for no reason just seems silly to me. If I’m walking somewhere and happen to get a farmer’s tan, life goes on. Definitely have more sunspots now than I had when I was little though.
I don’t see any problems
Enjoy your cancer.
If you have to “get tan” just go outside and use some goddamn sunblock.
Just tan naked or you’ll get the ghey tan-lines
I don’t know much (or care) about the risks, but tanning is gay unless you’ve got a bb show coming up.
I’m a bit biased as I had a precancerous mole removed from my upper back, but you’re playing a risky game lying in a tanning bed. Just as we laugh about the ignorance people had about the dangers of smoking 50 years ago, so too will people in the (near) future laugh about the liberties we take with UV exposure.
Couple questions:
Is the argument that tanning beds are WORSE than sun tanning or JUST AS BAD? To me, a burn is a burn, whether it comes from a bed or the sun, but I’m no expert. Assuming I’m right, though, I would think that beds would be safer than sun tanning because you can dial up the precise amount of exposure and thereby avoid overdoing it.
Could the risks posed by UV exposure (whether sun or tanning bed) not be mitigated by getting a full skin exam every 6 months by a dermatologist?
facepalm apparently reporter doesn’t know that not all mutagens cause cancer…
Anyhow, i don’t see a problem in using a tanning bed once a week in northern areas or twice a month or less in the south (USA).
Melanotan.
Now that I’m a little older, the two things I really really wish I hadn’t done when I was younger is:
(1) Smoke
(2) Tan
Neither was worth it.

I have been looking into this - but doesn’t it just help you tan faster and hold a tan longer? From what I read on melanotan.org you still have to get some UV exposure for it to work, albeit much less exposure then you would usually need.

Way, way, way, way, way less. And no sunburn ever if used correctly and you plan accordingly.

LIke, how much less are we talking and how much melanotan is needed to get there? If it’s a few injects a week and one tanning session a week, I’m in.
For the record, I am half Middle Eastern, so I tan very, very easily. Also, I am not looking to get step-on-stage, “Is he half black?” tan; just a little darkness to give me a healthy complexion.

You may not like it, then, to be honest. It is extremely potent, in my experience.
Usually MT-II comes in 10mg vials. It is typically “loaded” at 1mg/d for a number of days, but this is really unnecessary. UV exposure IS necessary, but it doesn’t take much to experience some pretty unbelievable results. I usually end up getting too tan, and people comment way too much for my liking. I usually use it before a show, but, if very small amounts are used consistently, I think it can be a terrific way to get a nice summer tan without all of the dangers that large amounts of UV exposure entail.
.25-.5mg ED with moderate UV exposure the first week or two. Gradually increase UV exposure after W2 and then drop the dosage (a lot) after your desired level of darkness has been achieved. Keep in mind you’ll end up continuing to get darker beyond when you drop the dosage, so you need to actually start dropping it before you are where you want to be. You won’t, but I’ll just give the advice anyway. I always miss my mark and end up too dark and have to completely drop the MT-II altogether. And, for the record, I have the base complexion of the Pillsbury Dough Boy.
My avatar and profile pics are melanotan enhanced, just for your information. I live in Japan where it rains ALL the damned time and I work a lot of hours running a business here, so trust me, I did not get that much sun exposure for this amount of tan. It’s some pretty magical stuff.
I’m not meaning doing it to the point where you are all leathery and shit. And the pre-contest look is not a real tan, it’s spray on and it looks too brown.
I have to admit that those people who are white and pale look less healthy, even though it’s purported to be the opposite.
I personally believe that sun exposure is important to our health and the optimal functioning of our bodies. However, abusing sun exposure or tanning/burning excessively is of course going to lead to bad things.
But these people that never go out into the sun because they’re afraid of cancer are more likely to wind up with health problems because of this.
