Melanotan for Graying Hair

I have been going gray since I was 16. I used to pull em but its kind of a loosing battle!! I am now 34 with a good bit of the hair on the sides of my head gray.

I keep my hair very short, one for the low maintenance aspect but two so the gray isnt as noticeable. I am getting to the point where I need to decide if am going to just shave it all off or try to get my color back without dyeing.

So this leads to my question, if melanocytes produce pigment in both our skin and hair and melanin is the chemical pathway in which they do it then why couldn’t Melanotan I or II be used to treat graying hair?? I am part Spanish so I tan very easily, most accuse me of tanning which I am lucky enough not to have to. So the flip side is I dont want to be as black as the ace of spades all year either.

Its not that shaving my head bald is a big issue, once I start to loose it I have no problem just shaving it all off. As long as I do have a full head of hair tho I would like to keep it, just not if its gray!!

So what do ya think? Is it worth giving it a go? Its rather inexpensive stuff so its not a real large investment to try it out. Just looking for some brain storming, maybe something I am missing lol

I think that if your made to have gray hair then you are. Your always going to have to fight the battle with it. Might as well accept it or remove it. Personally drugs are not worth the gray battle. My Dad was into what your talking about, he went back to coloring his hair.

So shave it off if it bothers you that much.
Just my 2 cents.

You think you have it bad? I’m in my mid-20s and am very noticably graying.

User beware, Melanotan has been shown to cause harsh, sometimes irreversible, vision deteriorating side effects (including blindness).

What’s wrong with gray hair?

Like you, I have been graying since 16. I’m not yet 30 and my streaks (hair is kinda long and black) make me look more distinguished…

…at least that what my mom says.

Look at it this way, at least you’re not going bald!

LOL, I thought you were an old guy! Because of the avatar…

I’ve got quite a lot of white hairs and I’m nearing 30 too. I bleached my hair so now they’re not as noticeable. haha

I heard that MT-II gives you a black dick…or a very dark dick!

I’m 35 and pretty gray myself. Here’s my motto:

It can turn gray as long as it don’t turn loose.

HAHA! That’s Ronald Reagan, Johnny!

You’re lucky you’re not an American. You’d have just made some folks pretty angry

I think you should really reevaluate your self image. Gray hair is NOT a big deal on a man. A woman is a different story. If you are thinking about shaving the whole lot, you might want to try dyeing it first and see how it suits your lifestyle. You’ll spend almost as much time dyeing as you will (total) shaving it.

Also, and I hope the bald guys don’t jump on me, but I think it’s true, chicks (GENERALLY!) dig a full head of hair more than they do a totally bald one.

I think you should just let it be. 100 to 1 odds in your favor that the only person who actually gives a shit about your gray hair is you.

And no, I seriously doubt melanotan will restore your natural color. But you may go blind, then you won’t have to look at your gray hair. That might be a plus.

LOL Shawn, I know who Reagan is, but I didn’t recognize him in that pic…it’s been a long time since the 80’s and I’ve got so much imagery of Bush and Australian Prime Minister Howard in my head that I’d almost forgotten what old Ronnie looked like!

I was just connecting the age of Ronald in the avatar to the person with the username, that’s all.

:stuck_out_tongue:
I’m glad I peeked at this thread. You graying young whippersnappers are making me feel pretty good. Pretty, pretty good (can you hear Larry David in there somewhere?).

I’ll be 47 in a week, have the same amount of hair that I did when I was 17 and the gray hairs amount to about… 4 or 5.

Just rubbin’ it in.

Carry on, gents.
Well you’re just a lucky bastard, push.

Hey, one question - as a former user of MT-II, can you confirm that it does indeed give one a dark dick, very much darker in relation to the rest of the tanned pigmentation on the body?

I was thinking, if I try MT-II, I’ll have to put a sock over it while standing in the solarium, LOL.

I thought that theory had already been poo-pooed on in the melanotan.org board? Some users had their eyes checked and they were fine…

Any other supporting evidence to post up here?

My wife has been on MTII since April. Other than some slight nausea, and some darkening of freckles - the only other side effect she has experienced is a marked increase in libido.

She went from an almost Type I fish-belly white to looking like she lives on the beach.

On the other hand - there are many folks that can’t take it because of the sides. I think the blindness issue is way over blown.
