To Eat or Not to Eat...

Ever since I got educated on the merits of eating I have found myself constantly waivering between eating lots to get huge and cutting back on eating to stay lean…

I can never make up my mind! I feel like if I eat a lot, I will pack on a few pounds and lose my 6 pack but then I think about how I wanna gain some more muscles so I then eat and jack up my calories…

What do you guys do? How do you gauge how much to eat etc? What’s a good balance? Thanks.

I would say to

  1. check out Berardi’s Massive Eating guide and figure out your daily calorie needs http://www.t-nation.com/findArticle.do?article=body_146mass
  2. keep a diet log and figure out how you are doing!
  3. keep your calories just about maintenence to slowly, but surely gain lean muscles without packing on the fat

Fall and winter are around the corner. Screw losing your six-pack and pack on the beef. You can always get lean in the spring.

I feel you though. I am always wanting to gain without getting fat, but you just have to suck it up and realize that you’re not going to keep a six-pack year round and gain strength and mass. Not unless you’re genetically gifted to always stay lean, even when you gain.

As long as I can see a two-pack, it’s all good.

Word!

GFH baby!

Who needs a 6 pack when you can have a keg…

Anyone who has read my old posts already knows where I stand on this. I have yet to see someone who got “huge” by never losing sight of all ab muscles without using drugs. I am not talking about those who think that 180lbs is a great goal, but those who have a goal of actually reaching over 220lbs at average height relatively lean. When I am gaining, that is all I work on. Gaining a little body fat is not an issue to me. I am in a shirt 90% of the day. I have never understood needing to take off your clothes for anyone to tell you lift weights. I could wear a turtle-neck sweater with fleece lining and people will know I lift.
