I remember reading an article by Chris Shugart about this topic but could not find it in the archives.
We have almond milk, calorie countdown, rice milk and a few other alternatives. And we also have kefir which is a byproduct of milk.

If you can tolerate Milk then go for it I mean its got 2 quality proteins in it but not everyone can drink milk. Raw milk is the best in my opinion but its not easy to get. Unsweetend Almond milk is what I use in my coffee all the time and it tastes great. I have always wondered about calorie countdown milk but they don’t sell it where I live :-(.
Btw I don’t think you know what OP means. lol ![]()
Dave,
I erased that just for you.
Also, I was drinking kefir for about a month but started to get some gas and stomach cramps.
do you have a high bodyfat? - if you do, dont drink milk, learn from my mistake
If you’re in high-school football and couch is like “Gain ten pounds in a week”, then I’d ask mom to get a bunch of milk, for it’s cheap, and relatively decent calorie/macro makeup.
I can’t think of another reason to drink milk other than that I like the way it tastes.
I drank a gallon of whole milk a day for about 8 months. I gained weight, I got strong, and now I’m doing damage control on all the extra fat I gained.
Would I do it again? Probably not, but I didn’t know any better then, and my goal was to build muscle, which I did.

After a somewhat similar experience. I switched to fat free, and have been leaning out while drinking 2-3 gallons a week.
Milk works, and it is cheaper…
But there are a million ways to skin a cat.
Agreed with above, if you really want to be picky you can go with that Calorie Countdown milk or whatever it’s called. Personally through trial and error, my body does not like any kind of milk, I gain fat way too easily on it due to the lactose.
Drink the milk pussy!
haha if you can tolerate it that is. I drank a gallon per day for 4 months and made good gains. 1% is what I drank. When I switched to 2%/whole I started gaining some fat. Since then I’ve been drinking skim (low-fat diet). Ususally 2-3 gallons per week. I love milk! Can’t get sick of it.
