To Curl Or Not to Curl--That's The?

Just curl, everoyne likes having good arms no matter what. Doing a few sets of curls twice a week WONT OVERTRAIN YOU, and oh no you might get a CNS burn blah blah blah.

A couple sets of curls never hurt anyone.

Your lats, however, will not be optimally overloaded with compound movements.

The day my biceps are as strong as my lats is the day I put on a pretty pink dress and dance around the lilly fields.

this is a great point. pay attention kids. you are not going to burn out your CNS and get ā€œovertrainedā€ from a few sets of curls. the systemic effect of directly working your biceps is small, as they are a small muscle using small loads RELATIVE to the rest of the body.

that being said, beginners should still focus on dips and pullups and all that before embarking on massive gun programs.

i actually did two, yes, a whole two, sets of curls today. my elbows are feeling better, but i am easing back into it. and, for those of you that this might p!ss off, one of those was in the power rack. b!tches.!

lets make sure to start a new thread about curling at least once per month.
