Trail/Off-trail ruck
- 34:55, 1.70 mi, 494 ft. ascent/descent, approx. 25lb pack
- Low hikers, Fox River socks. Leg hurt after finishing.
Today was a brief, fatigued hike, probably from deadlifts. The rust shook off as I climbed hills, though. Hopefully the next ruck will be much longer.

Off-trail/ trail/ road walk
- 34:58, 2.0 mi, 505 ft. ascent/ descent
A mild walk to end the week. The doctor said I likely don’t have any tears or micro tears in my elbow, and the best fix will be weeks of inactivity. Bleah. I did get a referral to an orthopedic, so we’ll see if that yields any different information.

Paved trail walk
- 1:04:28, 3.50 mi, 763 ft. ascent/ descent
A pleasant late-night trail walk with my niece. The pace was slow, but the hills were a nice challenge anyways.

I might go ahead and get the weighted vest I’ve been wanting for over a year. Now that fall is coming, I can think about walking outside.

I think it’s a good purchase. I wear a backpacking backpack for rucking and another day pack for weighted pushups, pullups, and walking lunges. If you won’t be using a pack to carry other stuff, a weighted vest would be great for cardio and extra resistance to calisthenics. How many pounds can the vest you want hold?
I hear you about the heat, and we don’t have the humidity y’all face.

The brand have them up to 100lbs. it’s a 75lb with a 25lb attachment. You can remove the weights, so it can be nothing up to 100lbs.

A short session after last week’s de(no)load to get back in the groove.
Unfortunately, the doctor said I need to rest my elbow for several weeks, possibly up to two months. I did get a referral to the orthopedic, who I’m hoping will prescribe PT and/or a cortisone injection (did wonders for my shoulder four years ago.) It appears though, I’ll be doing only lower body lifting, abs, and cardio for a month or two.

Sorry to hear about the elbow situation. Hope fully you will get some relief and get back on track soon.

A weighted vest that holds up to 100 pounds sounds excellent. Have you decided whether to get one?
Just need to bite the bullet. I’m definitely getting it so that I can stop thinking about it.
It looks good to me. I like the open sides - cooler, easier to move in, and no pit stains over time.
