Comments: Well, it looks like I have hurt my left foot again. Perfect timing… All of that running this past week must have been a bad idea. It hurts to put weight on it this morning and the pain woke me up around 5:00AM this morning. I have never owned Saucony shoes before this pair, but it seems like they have already worn out after only a month or two. I will need to find another pair of running shoes pretty soon. Might need to go back to Brooks as those had a ton of padding and lasted a long time. Going to try to come up with a metcon to burn some calories. This is the last session in the tiny garage/sweat box.

Metcon: Foot friendly metcon right there. Got it done. Not too bad. That’s a wrap on the tiny garage.

Have a good day folks!

My knees don’t dig running at all anymore. I miss it but I also don’t. LoL.

Sorry to hear about the foot! I am going to try not to make 3 for 3 with You, Greg and my injuries this week. Greg’s pec, your foot. My knee better behave!

I really dig Hoka shoes. Have you checked those out?

Solid final metcon in the sweat lodge! Try not to work to hard on the move.

Definitely man. A bike is on my list! Yeah we are all getting beat up this week… At least you guys aren’t moving. LOL. :joy: Haven’t checked out Hokas yet. I may check them out in the coming days though. Brooks has a good amount of cushion too. Thanks on the sweat box. Going to be glad to be moving on to a new, larger sweat box.

Bikes are really nice. They come with their own dangers as well though. If you wreck them they hurt a hell of a lot more than falling down running. That is why I don’t do all that mountain biking stuff. To old for those type of injuries anymore :upside_down_face:

Hoka makes some seriously padded runners called Bondi, I use these for work walking on concrete all day. I also have a pair of Cliftons that I wear for everything else that are pretty nice. Back when I ran the Bondi was what I wore though.

Ended up wit Brooks. I did, at least, try on the Hokas. If my foot wouldn’t have been swollen they may have felt better. :joy:

Comments: It has been a long couple of days. We are in our house in Wilmington and I have my garage gym setup. Still have a very long way to go in here but I can at least train in the meantime. My lower back, knees and foot are all sore from moving/running last week so I’m going to do a deload week this week.

This was a good session. Took it easy on the weights and did a fairly normal accessory and metcon. I usually do squats and bench on Monday but my knees are killing me so I figured I’d give them another day to recover. Good first session in the new garage. After being in a one-car garage, this place feels like the Taj Mahal. :joy:

Have a good day!

Solid work on your deload day. Congrats on getting moved in. I am sure it feels good to be home. Did you get that awful Panther’s flag hung up yet?

Thanks Shane. Ha ha, not yet. It’s in storage but will be here next Tuesday! :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

Comments: Spent the better part of yesterday building shelves in the garage. Got about 16 total feet of shelving built. Still need to do the one’s over the garage door. I have to say, living next to a marsh has its challenges. There are bugs and critters around here that I haven’t really dealt with before. As I type this, there are two horse flies about the size of my hand in the garage. At night, tons of little frogs are crawling around on the outside of the windows (trying to get bugs). Yesterday evening I just emptied 2 gallons of Roundup behind the fence to try and kill all of the poison ivy. It’s a wild place man…

Good session. Killed the horse flies between LISS and strength. You know you’ve been working hard when light squats feel heavy. Got them done. Nice accessory session and some interval/sprints. Had to leave and drop my daughter off at school after accessory. Came back and crushed some DB G2OH’s and LISS.

Done.

I didn’t figure your home gym would be without that Panther flag for long.

Do you have gators near the house? That would be crazy.

I think poison ivy is the state flower of Georgia. That stuff is everywhere down here. We use it like razor wire to keep unwanted people off our land. LoL.

Those horseflys will bite the heck out of you. Take no mercy on them!

Nice deload, good luck with the shelf building.

Good looking deload workout today Trent. It’s good to see your gym up and going.

I don’t miss Poison Ivy. We had it in TX but not out here where I live in CA…just Poison Oak which doesn’t seem to bother me. Good luck getting rid of it.

Ha ha, thanks Shane. Nah, not many gators up here. Those don’t start to show up until you get down to the low country of SC. Plenty of poison ivy though! :grimacing:

Thanks Greg. Not even sure what poison oak looks like. Glad it doesn’t bother you though.

Comments: LISS and metcarnage this morning. Wanted to do more but that’s all I had time for. Got it done. Ended up doing about 30 minutes of stairs (up and down) at work today so that helped torch a few more calories.

Solid metcon Trent. That would definitely bring a nice pump and get the heart rate up.

Thanks Shane!

Comments: I had to leave at 6:00AM yesterday for Raleigh so I took the day off from training. Even if I hadn’t taken the day off I was pretty hurt up from my friend’s fantasy draft on Wednesday night. I don’t know what it is about fantasy football drafts that makes me pound beers with reckless abandon but it happens every year. And yesterday was rough… Worked all day long, with no lunch. Then got home around 7:00PM last night. Two hour drive each way.

Bro Work: That was some good stuff. Really good all around pump. Haven’t done A2G squats in years. Knees were feeling OK so I went for it. :joy: The GHD Situps, touching the floor were intense.

Comments: First run in the new neighborhood. Don’t get me wrong, it’s good to be down by the coast, but boy do I miss my sidewalks and greenways back in Raleigh. It’s different when you have to run on the road and quickly jump off if a car is coming. Oh well. Such is life… Good pace for that mostly flat run. Hope you all enjoy the weekend!

LoL at Fantasy football beers. They go down easy don’t they?

Nice bro work and good pace on that neighborhood run. Dodging cars has to make it a lot more interesting out there running. You need one of those yellow safety vests.

Have a good holiday weekend!

Thanks Shane. Yeah they sure do. Don’t tempt me on the safety vest!
