That is about the only way I could see it being worth it. That sounds like a sweet deal! Our power bill is our second largest expense behind our mortgage. ![]()

Comments: Covered a lot of ground in that session. Since I took Monday off and am really busy the next few days I decided to combine Push and Pull. It actually worked out pretty well as I was able to superset a lot of stuff. Started with a fairly straight forward metcon and then went to the gym for the rest. Pretty solid high rep sets on strength.
Damn, that was a ton of work knocked out in 47 minutes. Way to go man. ![]()
Nice reps on that BP too. 15 reps at 155 is impressive.
I see you have a TV in your garage. Very nice!
Thanks Shane! Bench was feeling ridiculously strong this morning. Part of me wishes I was doing heavier reps but oh well… Yep, bought a 43" Vizio for the garage over the holidays. I think it was about $200. I had always wanted a TV out there and because of its size it’s easy to pick up and carry out to the driveway or back patio to sit by the fire and watch football, etc. For my birthday in December we had about 20 friends sitting next to the fire in the driveway watching football. Doesn’t get much better than that.

Comments: Good ride this morning. I have really been taking it easy on the Peloton for a while. This was a heck of an effort just to finish at 21.6 MPH. I suppose that’s the way it goes… Felt good to get the blood flowing. Done.
Sounds like a great time. Fire, tv, football and beers. Not sure it gets much better than that.
Reminds of a time back ack in the day when my friends and I put a TV in the backyard. We ordered pizza from the local place so much they used to ask if we were dining in the backyard today. If so, they would bring it around back. Haha.
Heck of an effort. I have yet to average much over 20MPH so I am always impressed with your pace on that thing.
Thanks Shane! I know you’ve done over 20 mph!

Comments: Only got about 6 hours of sleep last night after a massive day in the field yesterday. Still got up and got this in. That was a good ride. It was my official 500’th ride after I miscounted last week. I didn’t get a shout out as the shout outs for at-home riders generally stopped at 600 but it was still fun. I like the schedule rides as they force me to get out there right at 6:30 instead of sitting in the comfy chair and sipping more coffee. Got it done and then put together a metcon that didn’t piss off my pulled neck muscle. Done.
Smoking pace on that ride Trent. Congrats on 500! ![]()
That was a nice metcon too. Solid way to work around a sore neck.
Thanks Shane. It was fun hitting the official 500’th ride and then getting that metcon in. ![]()
Just getting caught up here.
My neighbor had a good sized bank of solar panels installed a few years ago and was bragging to anyone that would listen about how they would run the whole house he was going to sell power back to the co-op.
When the bad ice storm hit in 2021 it was 30° inside his house! It was all I could do to keep from asking him about his God awful looking solar array.
Anyway, if you are not afraid of propane look into getting a ventless heater like a Mr Buddy. Yes, you need to insure fresh air and a good carbon monoxide detector but… it beats the hell out of being cold when the power goes out.
Thanks for the input CL! Yep, in general I am pretty iffy about the solar technology. I haven’t heard good reviews from anyone around here about it. Fortunately, the power rarely goes out here so what happened last week almost never happens. Usually I’m more concerned about the power going out due to a hurricane and not a winter storm. The heaters you referenced sound like a good option for that. Heck, if we could get some gas logs for the fire place that would go a long way too. I like the idea of a good sized generator that runs off of natural gas and powers the whole house. I know it’s a lot of money but Lord knows we have p!issed money away on way dumber things than that… ![]()

Comments: Good session this morning. We had a blast with lots of neighborhood friends last night during the game. As for the game, I didn’t doubt for a second that the Seahawks would win. When I watched (in person) as they held our offense to barely any production I knew they were going to the big game. Anyway, we didn’t get to bed until after midnight and luckily our kids didn’t have school this morning so I slept in a little. Got to the gym around 9:00AM and it was nearly empty. That was a good session. I’ve been trying to throw in some light squats and deads and it sure is refreshing to do those again. Finished with a sweltering 18:00 in the sauna. Done.
Nice workout Trent. Got to love the workouts where you can sleep in and find an empty gym when you get there. ![]()
Nice 20 minute ride, smoked it.
Good to see those squats and deads back in rotation. I am glad they felt good too.
Yep, Seattle was that team this year. I am with you and predicted them to take it all as soon as the playoffs started. I was surprised at how much better their defensive line was than the Patriot’s offensive line though. They man handled them. Their defensive was impressive.
Thanks Shane! Anytime you can get an empty gym in the daytime is a great time!
Yeah, the Seahawks are on another level. We were pulling for Drake Maye (UNC alum) but he hopefully has many years ahead of him and I wouldn’t be surprised to see him back in the Superbowl.

Heck of a workout Trent. Good looking metcon. I might be stealing some of your metcons while I am on vacation. Depends on what the gym looks like but the place we are staying at Universal says it has one. Fingers crossed it’s decent.
Bench numbers looking good too man. ![]()
Thanks Shane. I might stay in Myrtle Beach tomorrow night and am thinking about taking a dumbbell down there and doing a metcon in the hotel room. I usually drive back just so I can workout in my garage the next morning before driving back down there to work again.
Glad the gym looks nice at your hotel in Universal.
