It’s definitely the burpees man. People are not made to do those. ![]()
I agree! No good comes from it.
Nice workout today. Sorry to hear your Peloton is making noises. ![]()
If your hip is bothering you, I would put those abduction/adductions at the beginning to warm your hips up. That seemed to work the best for me.
Good job punching the clock. ![]()
Thanks Shane. The adduction machine doesn’t seem to bother it. The abduction machine does so I’ve been keeping that light. Might try to plug those in at the beginning as you suggested. ![]()
Yeah I’m convinced the devil invented burpees.
![]()
It was actually a dude named Royal H. Burpee. He made it as a physical fitness test back in the late 1930s.
How Mr. Royal H. Burpee Invented the Most Despised Movement in Fitness | BarBend
Royal Burpee??? More like Royal PITA.
Yeah, I think I had read that before too. I say it’s more of a torture method than fitness test. ![]()

Comments: Good session. Started with a metcon in the garage and then figured I would turn unloading the plates and putting them away into an extra metcon. (It’s rained yesterday and today so I’m not getting my usual afternoon walks in. Trying to make up for it.) Then went to the gym and did a pretty respectable Push session. Most of the benches were taken so I figured I would do Decline bench for work sets today. Did Arsenal SP for my SP work sets. Accessory work was solid as well.
Since the weather is so crummy I might get up and do a few trips up and down the steps in my office throughout the day to try and burn some more calories.
Praying for the people of Jamaica. This is going to be a terrible day for them.
Man, that was a lot of work put in today. I like the creativity to finding extra ways to move more. ![]()
Strong decline benching Trent. The rest of it looked like something I would have enjoyed doing too.
Yeah it is really sad. They said it was strongest storm on the planet this year.
Prayers up indeed man. They are going to need it.
Thanks Shane. Definitely enjoyed the decline bench as it usually makes you feel strong.
I’ve checked social media and even the Weather Channel today and am surprised at the lack of video feed coming from Jamaica. Maybe all of the cell towers are down… Either way, it is going to be rough.
I do not have access to a true decline bench. But, I find they work my chest better than the flat bench.
Amen to that. Decline is my favorite variation of barbell bench. Definitely hits the chest like a freight train. ![]()

Comments: Good session despite not sleeping well last night. Started with a solid Peloton ride and another PR on Pull-ups. Then went to the gym and did some more pull work. It was cool doing the rope bicep curls as a strength exercise. Done.
Woot. Another pull up PR! Great job man. Those rear db lat raises with 30 pound DBs are impressive too. Low rowing 3PPS is also some strong work. I really like using the rope for some hammer curls too.
23MPH warm up ride is just nutty as well.
Crushing it Trent!
Thanks Shane. That was a good session for sure. Definitely getting some quality lifting in right now. ![]()

Comments: Very long day yesterday at work. Started off with a challenging 30 minute Peloton ride and then had to do testing all day at work. Ended up with 23,000 steps, walked over 11 miles and burned almost 4,000 calories. Was pretty tired this morning but still got out here and got after it on a beautiful 50 degree sunny Carolina morning. Double header FTW. Done.
Hope everyone gets their fill of candy! (Like we need it) ![]()
Wow, 23K steps on top of that Peloton ride. Sounds like a hell of a day man.
Back to back metcons today were impressive as usual.
I am going to try to avoid the candy dish, but if there are any butterfingers in there all bets are off.
Thanks man. Yeah, I’m a huge sucker for Butterfingers too… I think the plan here is to put some beers in the cooler and ride around in the golf cart while our son trick or treats with his friend. This year my wife is going as Ginger Spice and I’m going as Cousin Eddie. Should be quite a combination. ![]()
Haha. That is awesome! Are you doing front yard, dumping the RV in the sewer Eddie, or fancy white shoes, dinner time Eddie?
Dumping the
er in the sewer Eddie. I already had one of those trapper hats, black dress shoes and socks. I just ordered a white bathrobe on Amazon for $25 and voila!
I’ve gotta say though, the white sweater and green pants (with eggnog glass) or the blue leisure suit are extremely overlooked and would have been a damn good look too. Maybe next year…
Might need to stop by the gas station and grab a cheap cigar to complete the costume. ![]()
Hope it warms up. Might get a little chilly on the manly parts ![]()
