Comments: This was a good one. I’ll be honest, I don’t like doing Olympic style lifts at that high of repetitions but thought HPC’s were fairly safe. I subbed a 5K scenic Peloton ride for each 800m run. That was about double the effort but at least I didn’t have to stair at a blank screen. Done.
May I congratulate you on 15 years of marriage. I hope your next 15 years are as great as the previous 15 years!
Happy anniversary Trent! Here is hoping to another 15!
That was a hell of metcon. Wow. If you were not awake going into that one I can only imagine you were wide awake when you finished. LoL.
Way to crush it man.
Thanks gents! I am hoping the next 15 are better than the first. We had some very rough times in there and have both required some personal growth. I’m optimistic though. ![]()
Thanks on the metcon. That was a good one!

Comments: Good session. I was pretty hurt up from lots of beers this weekend. Still put in some good work. I thought I had loaded up 245 on the bar for that last set of squats but after that single I noticed that it was 265. No wonder it felt so heavy. Ha ha… Will check the journals at work.
Nice box squats Trent. Nice and heavy at 265 even if it was misloaded and felt heavy. LoL.
Also great job on that 215 on BP. Gym session was solid as well.
I really need to get some pushups back into my program somewhere.
Way to put those beers to work today.
Thanks Shane. I needed to workout for 17 hours to work off all those beers, but maybe I put a dent in them. ![]()

Comments: Good ride. Legs were smoked at the beginning of this and didn’t really loosen up until about 20 minutes in. Really tried to put the pedal to the metal on the back half. I was trying to get closer to 23 mph but my legs were smoked during the last 10 minutes. Still an improvement.
Smoked it. Man you are flying on that peloton Trent. New PR FTW! ![]()

Comments: Well I’ll be damned… I never thought I would have ever broken that pull-up record from 10 years ago… Miracles do happen. Ha ha… I will say it was very close but I’m counting it. Mainly because I’m old as dirt and don’t get many PR’s nowadays. ![]()
This was a good session. Started with a metcon and then did strength. I was planning on going to the gym to do accessory afterwards but the strength session took over an hour so I ran out of time. Felt good to move some heavy (for me at least) weight again. I haven’t done heavy deads in probably 6-8 months. Could have kept going there but decided to quit while I was ahead. It was good to get 1x135 on OHP too. I don’t always get that rep. I’ll take it!
Damn! That was a hell of a workout Trent. Long time since I have seen you hitting deads that heavy and those pull ups. Wow! Congratulations on that PR! Very impressive!!
Thanks Shane! Honestly, it has been so long since my lower back and everything felt good enough to do that. LOL I don’t think I’ve dead lifted over 285 since early this year. There were cycles where I didn’t deadlift at all. It feels good to think that I could probably get a rep close to 400 lbs with minimal training. (I know Hex Deads are easier than conventional but it’s still not easy)
Like I said, that pull-up was super close. I would say my chin is definitely even with the bar, maybe a tad above it. A Marine Corps drill instructor may not count it but I’ll take it for a 45 year old in his garage.

Criminy, where’d you pull that out from? Great work.
Thanks. Maybe “Old Man Strength” is finally kicking in?

I had to see for sure. Drew a red dotted line on this screen shot from my video and I’m calling that a good rep. ![]()
Looks legit to me. ![]()

Comments: Slept pretty bad again last night and feel like I might be getting sick so I took it easy and stayed in my zones for this one. Got the blood flowing. Tried to do a 5 minute cool down ride and lost internet connection so I called it a day. Done.
Still a kick ass pace for bad sleep and feeling under the weather.
Hopefully whatever you have passes quickly.
