Hope your foot feels better soon!
Beer chugging races sound interesting. maybe I should suggest this to the chamber of commerce.

Thanks @shaneinga and @ChickenLittle. Shane, I bet you have 285-290 in that tank right now. :sunglasses:

The beer running event is probably the most “Wilmington, NC event” I’ve ever seen. Most people here drink a lot but are also in pretty good, if not very good shape too. Several people puked during the race. That’s just the way it is… People that don’t drink alcohol had to chug a cup of milk before running. IMO that would be a lot worse than chugging beer. :face_vomiting: The guy who won the beer mile was 37 years old. A 45 year old did it in 7:35! :exploding_head: To salt the wound for me, Sierra Nevada sponsored the event so I would have been chugging my favorite beer before running, had I been able to compete… It was fun to be there either way. They held this on someone’s private property. You started in this field and there was a 5K loop cut through the woods that took you out to the intracoastal waterway at about the halfway point and then brought you back to the field. There was a band playing on top of a Big Tex flat bed trailer, food trucks, etc. Super fun time. Here are a few photos:

Looks like a great time! Maybe next time.

I absolutely would have not chugged the milk in place of the beer. LoL.

Looks like a blast man! You will have to remember the date next year and stay off your feet so you can partake.

Someone was in the sauna

Comments: First day of school for our kids. I woke up at 5:00AM so pumped to have some structure to our schedule again. I had some coffee and Bible time, then was out in the garage by 5:40 AM doing pull-ups. Worked up to 1x70 lb. Then went back in at 6:00 to help with getting my daughter ready. To my surprise my wife said she had it under control so I went back out and did some conditioning for a while. That metcon looked worse than it was. Did a nice 10 minute warmup ride on the Peloton after. Then took my daughter to school. I was sweating when I got in the truck and ice cold by the time I got to the gym, so I warmed up again on the assault bike. Had a good pull session and then skipped the sauna as someone else was in it. (It’s a little tight for two people in there) Good session.

Nice work today Trent. Those pull ups are just nutty. Very nice pull session at the gym today too.

That is wild your kids are just now starting school. My son started August 1st. Of course, our kids have an unbelievable number of vacations. Fall Break, Winter Break, Spring Break, Thanksgiving break, and Christmas break which runs the week of Christmas all the way through the first week of the next year. I honestly don’t know how some parents who don’t have enough vacation do it.

Thanks Shane. My all-time 1RM on pull-ups is 1xBW+100 lbs, so I’ve been slacking. LOL I would like to work those in more but my gym doesn’t have a way to do weighted pull-ups so I usually sub in one of the “pull down” machines when I would otherwise be doing weighted pull-ups. It isn’t really the same though… Might try to squeeze them in in the garage and then head to the gym. :+1:t2:

Honestly, I was thinking it was too early to start school. Ha ha… To me it’s weird that they start school and then go right into Labor Day weekend. August 1’st seems way too early. Our kids don’t get out of school until mid-June. Is your son in year round school? That is a lot of breaks alright. Glad you’re rich and have a lot of vacation time! :joy: :joy: :joy:

Our school lets out early May. I guess it’s hot enough to be summer here then. LoL.

Rich?!?! I wish man.

Comments: Today was our son’s first day of kindergarten, marking the end of ten years of my wife having at least one of our kids at home. We walked him into class on his first day, and then I hit the gym afterwards. I only had one hour so had to get after it. I haven’t really done squats much this cycle and my lower back was a little sore from the Peloton yesterday so I stopped while I was ahead on squats. Supersetted everything after that and was dripping sweat long before I ever thought about going into the sauna. Ha ha. Ended up “raw dogging it” for ten minutes in the sauna and couldn’t stop laughing thinking about this IG reel that I saw yesterday. Luckily there were no naked old dudes in there. Well, just one I guess. Ha ha…

Wow man, that was a hell of a workout. I think you got about all of it in there. :sunglasses:

Nice job on those box squats! That is some good weight there.

Kids are growing up way to fast! I am sure today had to be somewhat emotional for your wife. I know first days of school are for mine.

LoL at the sauna IG. Thankfully the people in our sauna are mostly clothed.

Comments: Good session. I have been waiting for this day for many years. My wife finally took the kids to school this morning and I was left to get some in the garage on the solo. With pretty bad leg DOMS I still managed a PR on the Peloton and then cranked up the Metallica and did a metcon. Time to go to work. Have a great day!

Crushing those peloton PRs here lately Trent. Great job man!

That combo, along with the Metallica, worked to crush some cals today. Very impressive workout.

Thanks Shane. I managed to ride a zone above for the whole ride and still wasn’t on pace to set a PR. So with about 5 minutes left I just kept it in Zone 7 for the rest of the ride and barely squeaked out a PR by less than 10 kj. I think that hitting PR’s on power zone rides is probably not happening anymore. I need to do Climb rides or HIIT rides to get those.

It was nice to listen to some music that I would actually want to listen to while working out. LOL With the wife and kids at home I never usually play anything in the morning for fear of waking one of them up or annoying them. I’ve been raw dogging it for ten years in the garage for the most part. Ha ha… Either silence or listening to something really mellow that isn’t very motivating.

Comments: Haven’t done an FTP test since December of 2023 so decided to give it a shot this morning. It’s funny, I only had 6 hours of sleep last night and was a little hungover but had a pretty frustrating weekend so needed to blow off some steam. I smoked my old score (234 kj) by 89 kj. To be fair, on the first test I just went along with the instructor’s queues but could have pushed it harder. Right out of the gate on this one Ben Alldis said, “If you are a more experienced rider feel free to push it as hard as you want. It’s your ride.” I stayed in Zone 6 for the entire ride and did sprints in Zone 7 ever few minutes. Ended up at almost 8 mph and finished in the top 6% for that ride. I’ll take it… Then did a quick cool down and finished with another 20 minute ride at a more normal pace.

I think my bearings are starting to go again so I might need to call up Peloton and get the guy back out to replace them. Maybe it is was the summer humidity that really screwed them up?

That’s a hell of an FTP Trent. Your powerzone rides should be a lot more interesting now. :sunglasses:

Killer rides man. Very impressive!
