Comments: Nothing crazy in this one. Reps of 10 on the strength sets and push/raise/abs combos on accessory work. Done. Met a nice older man on the bike. As they say, once the old guys start talking to you at the gym that means you are an old guy too. Truth… Ha ha…

Looks like you were hustling to get all that in in 49mins… lol

I don’t know what this means.

Yep, definitely hustling!

That stands for Hammer Strength Iso-Lateral Bench Press (definitely not trying to type all of that. Ha ha…)

Solid push session Trent. Moving some good weights everywhere.

I like the idea of using the EZ bars for front raises. :+1:

Seems like the only people who talk to me are old guys.

Thanks Shane. I would love to superset cables with machines/free weights but for some reason they put them on the other side of they gym so I end up doing EZ Bar or dumbbell raises, etc on that side of the gym. Yep, the old guys in our gym are awesome. Definitely the best jokes of anyone by a landslide. I’ve accepted the fact that I’m getting old and trying to embrace it. :sunglasses: A few months ago I was talking to a younger guy at work and he sounded shocked that I was in my mid-forties. LOL He said he thought I was in my 30’s. I told him thanks and have you thought about getting your eyes checked? :joy:

Dad jokes are the best jokes.

That is a great compliment. Take them while you can! Haha.

Heavy carries get added into the superset then! simples

Sauna
8:00

Comments: Decent session. I guess a lot of people do Back/Bi’s on Friday. The row machines were in heavy use but oddly enough nobody was on the cables so I did a lot of stuff over there. Ended up doing the sauna at the end too. Can’t remember what the benefits are but it was fun and I wish I could have stayed in there for more like 10-15 minutes. HR steadily climbed from the 80’s to about 115. Almost felt like meditating. We have our daughter’s 10’th birthday party this afternoon at a waterpark so hopefully it is a fun time.

Very nice session Trent. Looked like one I would enjoy. :+1:

A lot people doing back today at my gym. We must have missed the memo but still passed the test. :joy:

Happy Birthday to your daughter! Have fun at the water park.

Happy Birthday to your daughter!

My gym was close enough to a sauna for me this morning. I can’t imagine climbing in one on purpose right now

Thanks Shane. Yeah, we may need to rethink doing back on Fridays…

Thanks! Yep, no need for a sauna in the garage gym this time of year! :joy:

Comments: Pretty good session. My foot is hurting and swollen again so I was limping around in the gym. Decided to push legs back to later this week in hopes that I can get this swelling/pain down. Started with back to back conditioning. Peloton in the garage and then a nice warmup metcon at the gym. I probably had a rep at 225 on bench as 215 went up nice and easy. Nobody was around to spot so I didn’t attempt 225. Also probably had a rep at 135 on OHP but was tired of putting weight on that foot so I stopped early there too. Didn’t have a lot of time left for accessory so I threw together two quick supersets and called it a day. Decent session. It sucks when you get to the end of a cycle and can’t really put the pedal to the metal on heavy week. You win some you lose some I guess…

In an unrelated story, Saturday I went with some friends to a running event where the competitors had to chug beers before running. The first event was “the beer mile.” You had to chug a beer at the start of each 400 Meter lap x 4 laps. The winner chugged 4 beers and ran a mile in 6:30. Not all heroes wear capes. Ha ha… Then they had a 4x5K relay where each person chugged a beer and then ran a 5K. That was the event my buddies were in. They didn’t do so well but it was really fun to watch. I wish I didn’t have these foot problems because I would have loved to compete in that race. After everyone ran we sat around and drank beers and ate tacos. There was a band playing and the crowd was super fun. Good times…

Nice work Trent. I wouldn’t feel bad about that bench press effort. For me to hit them same pound for pound bench I would need to be benching up in the 285 to 290ish range so you are doing fine.

Sorry to hear about the foot. :frowning: Hopefully it heals up quick for you.

That beer running event sounds like it could easily turn into a puke fest. Haha.

The winner of that race doing 4 beers and a 6:30 pace. Wow! Oh to be young again! :sunglasses:
