Sorry to hear about your cold. Really sad about that kid. Hopefully he has a full recovery. I am sure that was horrible to watch.
I almost went to see Pepper and Iration here in Atlanta. I figured I was too old to go. I was wrong though as one of our friends went and everyone said it was a bunch of old people and the show was over around 10:00. LoL.
If Stick figure ever makes their way here I will definitely go to that one.
Thanks man. It is sad what happened to that kid but you have to know better than to be standing on the back of a golf cart dancing with some teenagers driving. I used it as a way to really drive that point home with my kids last night. I told them that my wife and I wouldn’t always be there to steer them in the right direction so they have to use common sense and make smart decisions. If you don’t it can cost you your life or one of your friends’ lives. Or some other undesirable consequence. Hopefully that resonates with them. My wife is still pretty shaken up about it…
Yeah, I haven’t been to a concert in 20 years and to be honest, I’m not a huge fan of either of these bands. A bunch of friends in the neighborhood are going so we are going with them. The in-laws are also in town to watch the kids so hopefully it will be fun. I prefer Stick Figure over either of those bands too.
Comments: We had an incredible time at the Dirty Heads/Slightly Stoopid concert on Saturday night. We went with 6 other couples from the neighborhood, and it was a ton of fun. Lots of beers went down… Then yesterday we spent the evening at the beach with another family and had more beers/fun. Needless to say, I was pretty tired this morning. I haven’t quite gotten over this cold so my energy levels are not back to normal yet. Still managed a good session at the gym though. We are supposed to go to the mountains on Thursday so I only have three days to train this week. I am planning to do two full body sessions and a conditioning session (probably a Peloton ride).
A couple of my buddies and I joke all the time about “raw dogging it" in the gym. That is people like me who don’t wear headphones but still grind it out while being constantly distracted by funny/obnoxious sounds from other patrons and, of course, terrible music playing in the gym. Anyway, this morning I was about to do a set and the theme from “Ghost Busters” starts blaring from the class upstairs. I ended up shooting a video of it just out of pure disbelief… Anyway, I had the thought that I should start an Instagram page for people who “Raw dog it” in the gym to send videos, photos, etc. of the insanity that we sometimes have to put up with. This is similar to Qualified Captain, etc. Anyway, if any of you are interested, it is called “@gymrawdoggers”. Give me a follow and I will follow you back.
Cheers!
Uhmm… I work out in my tin shed. I like my music. It’s the only time of day I get to put both earbuds in a tune out the world. So, maybe my fire has gone out.
That was a heck of a workout after a weekend of concerts, beaching, sunshine and beers. Then add to it still not over your cold and I am not sure you are human. LoL.
My gym close to my house I have no problem raw dogging it as they play classic rock music. The gym out in Canton I have to put some ear buds in, the music is the stuff you hear in grocery stores.
The Ghostbusters theme definitely takes the cake though.
I will look for you on IG. I wouldn’t be surprised if you don’t get some interesting follows with that name.
Ha ha, true. I didn’t think about that. I saw a post a while back by “Boston Be a Man” talking about raw dogging a flight. So you get on the plane and you just sit there with no music, book, tablet, computer or anything. You just stare at the back of the seat in front of you for the entire flight. I couldn’t stop laughing… Then one of my buddies started talking about raw dogging it in the gym, which is as described above. No headphones, etc. I had never thought much about it but it is pretty funny honestly. You could be in the zone listening to music and crushing it or you can deal with the terrible music and obnoxious people around you and battle through it mentally. Ha ha… When you think about it it can be pretty challenging.
Anyway, the idea to have an IG page and maybe some t-shirts and hats popped into my head. No idea how to run a public IG page so it may crash and burn but maybe I can figure it out. Either way, the shirts and hats might be a hit. I would totally wear a shirt like that to the gym.
Ha ha ha!!! I’ve worn ear buds a few times and the music is nice, but I also like to be available to talk to people. It’s probably for the best as I have made some friends in there. I can see how it would be really difficult though if you were used to being in your own world and then you forgot your earbuds.

5 Minute Cool Down Ride
Comments: Good ride. I rode one zone above the entire ride and on the last 5 minutes I did every other minute out of the saddle at Zone 7/In the saddle at Zone 5. The fan was clutch, as usual. Done. I was raw dogging it in the garage, of course, and my son was out here for almost the entire ride and provided plenty of distractions.
Comments: Got a pretty good session in at the gym. I skipped deads as my lower back has been hurting. Threw in some light squats just to get some leg work in. Accessory was pretty solid and then I came home and mowed/trimmed the yard. The kid who had been mowing our yard quit after only 3 months. It’s for the best as he was lazy and did a pretty bad job. I worked my a$$ off out there this morning trying to play catch up for all of the stuff he skipped for the last few months. Made some good progress but I still have a long way to go.
We are leaving for Boone in the morning. I’m not sure if I’ll get a chance to train before that so if you don’t hear from me I’ll see y’all next week!
Comments: Boone was great. We ended up going to Tweetsie Railroad, Grandfather Mountain and Blowing Rock. Good times with the family… Got back to it with legs this morning. Haven’t done squats or deads in a while so I threw them in this morning (and supersetted them). I noticed that Hip Adduction was way harder than usual after that. Probably going to be feeling this one tomorrow. Ha ha…Will catch up on the journals at work.
