That was a hell of a workout Trent. After reading that I am surprised you can lift your arms to do anything.
That is great that your son is out there in the garage working out with you. Starting him young and setting a great example. ![]()

Ha ha, thanks Shane. Supersetting curls with rows is always a bicep smoker. Yeah, my son will walk out with a tank top on like he is ready to pump some iron. Then he comes out and picks up the 3 lb Peloton dumbbells and starts lifting. It’s adorable…
If this leads him to a life of physical training it will all have been more than worth it to me,. ![]()
Scheit,
Your Metcon is my workout. Good job!
Ha ha. I do this mostly so that i can eat and drink what I want. ![]()

Comments: Good session. I was tired and fairly hurt-up from a very long afternoon/evening at the pool yesterday. Lots of beers met their demise… The garage felt like a sauna with the summer blanket of humidity. Had to change shirts before heading the gym. Was happy to work up to 3x245 on squat as I haven’t squatted that much in the last two cycles. Went to the gym and finished up with a bunch more work. Done.
Great numbers today Trent. Nice triple at 245 on squats! BP was also very respectable as well.
Gym session was strong too!
Over an hour combined of solid lifting, very impressive considering a hot gym and long pool day the day before.
Thanks Shane!

5 Minute Cool Down Ride
Comments: That was intense. Managed to ride one zone above until the last Zone 5 interval. The humidity made this a lot harder. I noticed that for the last 20 minutes or so, my heart rate was at 100% - 102% and barely dropped down at all during the easy intervals. Plenty of sweat everywhere too. Done.
That definitely looked like a hell of a ride!
You Peloton riders. If I bought myself a Peloton for Christmas would my wife be upset? My former boss, and kind of relative by marriage bought a Harley about 15 years ago and hid it at his friend’s house. I think I can pull this off.
Ha ha ha. I don’t know your wife but I tried to pitch it to my wife as she could ride it too. They also have a lot of other classes that you can take anywhere with a TV or tablet. Like yoga, stretching, etc. I say go for it.

Comments: Good session. My lower back (probably disk related) started barking during deadlifts so I stopped at 245. Pull-ups went pretty well. Then went to the gym and put in some more work. As of now it is looking like we may have to skip our vacation (which was supposed to start tomorrow). Our son has started having really intense sensory issues with clothes (basically he doesn’t want to wear them) so we are trying to navigate that. Obviously, this is very difficult as we can’t really take him anywhere and can’t have people over. This couldn’t have happened at a much worse time as we are super burned out right now and really needed a break.
Hoping you can all work together to resolve this one! Did something trigger it - is there professional help you can get to work thru it as a family? Not trying to pry, just my 2c. Fingers crossed mate!
Thanks my friend. I’m not aware of any major life event that would have triggered it but school just ended for the summer and he will be entering kindergarten in two months. His older sister isn’t exactly an angel most of the time and being around her constantly again might have been an adjustment for him. (She picks on him a lot) Also, one of his close friends is having similar issues and he tends to copy his friends, so, we can’t figure out if this is a legit thing or something he has copied and latched onto as a means of coping or defense. For the time being, we are going to see if we can help him work through it (if that is possible) as opposed to getting professional help. I noticed the other night that when I got him to put on some “uncomfortable” clothes and then did a puzzle with him that he seemed to forget about the clothes after a few minutes and then went and watched some TV for an hour and seemed to not be bothered. I guess that might be a good sign. Trying to figure out how to navigate this…
Nice workout Trent. Sorry to hear you guys had to cancel your vacation.
With your son it’s probably more a control thing than actual sensory issue. I know kids will do funny stuff like that because it’s something they can control. Hopefully it’s a phase and he will grow out of it quickly.
Thanks Shane. We are still going to go. He might just be shirtless a lot. Ha ha… I think you might be right about the control thing.
That’s great news. Hope you guys have fun!!
Sorry to hear this. Good strategy with the puzzle.

Comments: Finally got to the gym this morning. It was annoyingly crowded for a holiday. Just trying to keep the joints moving after a full week off. I hurt my neck swimming yesterday at the pool so am hoping that feels better soon. We spent the afternoon at the pool and are going to a party, then golf cart parade and fire works. Should be a fun evening. Happy 4’th everyone!
Welcome back Trent!
Vacation pics on IG looked great. I have never been to the Biltmore. Looked very nice!
Holiday gym session FTW. I hear you on it being crowded. All the crews are fitting their lifting into the gyms shortened open time window.
Hope your golf cart parade was fun!
