What do you do right now? I thought about this path but ended up getting my MBA instead. But I do work in healthcare accounting. The real ā€œterminal degreeā€ in this field would be a CPA license, but its a ton of work and you’ll have to decide if its worth it to you based on how high you want to climb the ladder.

I’m a project engineer/estimator for one of the top 15 general contractors in the nation. I manage subcontractors, write contracts, price up parts of a $220 million construction project, attend commercial real estate networking events, spearhead networking meeting with architects or subcontractors.

Auditing interests me……Real Estate and Construction accounting interest me….
Controller at a general contractor or subcontractor sounds neat….

It’s a very versatile background…even at real estate brokerages, private equity real estate firms, investment management firms….they demand finance or accounting backgrounds for entry level analyst roles.

Real estate development roles demand finance or construction management background.

My construction management degree gives me a lot of options with general contractors, material suppliers, or subcontractors….I can be the project executive of company that installs door frames….lol.

I have many interests, might not be a bad idea to explore some of them.

Not bad…I wonder when I’ll get to the point where I can hit 495 for 3-5 reps during training… cut and bulk….cut and bulk…it feels like I’m going in circles….

Can’t deny that I get leaner every time though……

Idk….but the next time I cut I am going to simply do conjugate rather than bill pearl so I can lift heavy to some degree. I have a good feeling lifting heavy while cutting will keep me from losing way too much strength.

So there’s me, my boss, and my coworker meeting with a lead business development guy from a subcontractor.

At the end of the meeting, the guy asks for my business card, he thought I was in charge. I guess because of the questions I was asking.

This is hilarious…even more…cause I don’t think my boss likes me all that much. Definitely a ā€œtolerateā€ kind of feeling.

(If push comes to shove I have always been a fan of contingency plans, I have several)
