:frowning: welp I got sick because of my mom. She had the same virus. My neck is sore. Probably not gonna lift tomorrow.

This was very hard and my grip started fail on the last set of deadlifts. I kept hearing a little voice telling me to quit when I got to the dips and facepull supersets, but I didn’t and finished the session.

Of all this time I’ve been on this program. I didn’t really gain any weight. I’ve seen changes in body composition in my legs, back. And I’m getting stronger and I guess increasing work capacity. Am I doing this right? I’m still 190 lbs (191 to be exact).

That depends what your goal is. I forget in my old age so you may have to remind me.

In general though:

Plus:

Equals:

Which is a pretty common goal. Seems to me like you’re getting more muscular and less fat, so you’re doing something right.

I had to do required tutoring for National Honor Society. In my Strength and Conditioning Class I squatted 225x6. I was grinding out 7 then my friend spotted me. Lil pissed about that cause I KNEW I could’ve did that.

Does your class not have a setup that would allow you to safely fail a squat without a spotter?

The squat racks have safety bars. I never even asked for a spotter or wanted one. I never squat with a spotter.

Baseball coach was also nearby. He farted very loud and hard after the conversation and we all just started laughing.

This was on a half day. The weight room wasn’t even supposed to be open for random kids. The track throwing coach opened it up for throwers, but he let me in. He knew my older brother who also did throwing, but was a lifting beast. After that session he asked how my brother was and said he’ll always let me in the weight room. He said I was a good kid. I get so much respect from sports coaches. I guess it’s because it’s out of ordinary to enjoy and be disciplined to pretty much physically torturing myself. Lifting is fun, but also very painful. Glad to see my bench is moving.

Deadlift

Bench session was today and deadlifts were yesterday. I took advantage of my strength and conditioning class. There was only 30 minutes left so I got benching done. I guess I’ll do the assistance tomorrow or something I just got lazy at home.

This was yesterday I will post again today.

Is it normal to get unmotivated because of a session. The deadlifts are just…Ugh. I have this session and another one and it will be 6 weeks of bbb beefcake with that movement. I’ll be finishing bench sessions this week.

Yep. Dan John’s rule of 5: of every 5 workouts, 1 will be so good you’ll be confident you can step on the Mr O stage in a few weeks, 3 will be fine, 1 will be so poor you’ll question whether you’re a fully grown human being.

Or do you mean that one particular session consistently makes you hate life?

I had a great session today felt energized as soon as I walked in the weight room. I felt so dead and sluggish 4th block though. Very peculiar.

Looks like you’re doing a lot better with your consistency and discipline in finishing all your assistance work. Nice job man! \m/(-_-)\m/

Took advantage of my strength and conditioning class. Benching felt so light. I was supposed to do 160 for 95% I just tried finding a ratio and calculating the percentages in my head cause I didn’t have. My phone on me. 6 weeks done with bench. Just have deadlifts then I can move onto a different program.

This might be a dumb question but is there a common 5 rep max of a certain weight people hit with a deadlift that projects a 405 max.
I wanna deadlift 405/a 5rm that means I can deadlift 405.
@Chris_Colucci @T3hPwnisher

I wanna tag a lot more people but I can’t lol.
