Titan Tim Tackling his Twenties

I inserted the bolded word there because I’m assuming that’s what you meant. Just curious - wouldn’t you want to be doing it then?

I’m not really understanding what you meant either. Did you mean you don’t lift explosively because the weight is light or what @jshaving said? Either way, you should lift as explosively as possible whether it is a warmup, a 1 rep max, or anything in between in my opinion.

Yep because the weight is light. I think it’s a bad habit. I think I do it for heavier weight too.

Well you are mostly going to have to just make a conscious effort to move the weight as fast as possible during the concentric phase while still keeping the weight under control. Plyrometric exercises can help with this though. A few sets of a couple reps of jump squats or explosive pushups before your squat or bench workout respectively could help.

Press
70x5 80x5 90x5
70 5x10
50 abs
25 lunges each leg

Like every teen ya mess around. Press session was probably harder than it should have been considering I benched 185 for 3 during strength and conditioning class messing around. I was supposed to log this yesterday.

If I were you, I would not do that and instead use the class time for light to moderate conditioning. Nothing too crazy. Just to help with recovery and to complement your weight lifting.

Any pulls in there?

What’s up? You still lifting?

Squat
145x5 165x5 185x5
145 5x10
No assistance because nhs meeting cut like 30 minutes out of time

Press
65x5 75x5 85x5
65 5x10
50 abs
25 lunges each leg

Deadlift
190x5 220x5 250x5
190 5x10
50 dips
100 facepulls(I did facepulls today actually and deadlifts and dips the day before)
I do not appreciate baseball closing the weightroom at 3:10 it used to close at 3:30

This weeks sessions. I was just lazy to log.

Don’t do that. Don’t be lazy. If you let it, it will permeate into other areas of life. Try to be consistent. Even with simple things like logging.

Mske it a habit. Habits take no willpower once they’re ingrained.

Squat
155x5 175x5 195x5
155 5x10
50 dips- to be done at home
100 facepulls- to be done soon

So this was what I was doing today. I was resting for my last 5x10 set. Some skinny wrestler kid comes over to my platform and starts reracking the plates. I told him I was still using it and the dude said well get squatting. That mofo quarter squats 115. I didn’t say anything cause I was in the zone and it wasn’t worth it. Be the bigger man lmao.

Also I’m getting sick of not getting the assistance. Dumbass baseball coach opens the room at 2:20 and it closes at 3:00. It used to close at 3:30?!?z

Are you doing 5s progression or whatever?

Yes I am

Is that in the article somewhere? Because I didn’t see it. I have seen a couple of people do it that way though.

5s PRO is pretty standard with “difficult” assistance like BBB or variants in recent years. In general Jim recommends “easy” main lifts with “difficult” assistance, and vice versa.

Which way are you doing it. Is it easy or harder?

Ok cool. Thanks.

The article I read made no mention of what to do so I assumed it was standard 531 weights just like the bbb 3 month challenge was. So that’s what I was doing and it is easier for sure bc it is less work. I may switch though.

If plus sets are easier than 5s PRO, you either aren’t pushing them hard enough, or your TM is way off.

What kind of rep ranges are you getting on your plus sets?

Sorry for the highjack @tlgains
