Guys just got back from the gym and experienced the weirdest thing.
I’d had 1 litre of water an hour before hitting the weights got to the gym started my routine…
deads - feeling a little dehydrated, 400ml water,
incline press - feeling good but tiring, must be my cold
smith squats - Feeling terrible, losing lots of water, drank 500ml water, completly out of breath.
Feeling terrible I figured I’ll cut things short so had 2 quick sets on the lat pulldown - now VERY tired
and finished with some calf raises - By now completly spent.
After sitting for about fifteen minutes after the calf raises I was GONE I had nothing left, I knew something was up but I couldn’t put my finger on it, all my body wanted was sleep, sleep sleep…I could have cuddled up to the squat rack next to me and kissed it good night… I didn’t though I picked up my sorry ass and walked out to the car.
It was at the car I regurgitated what must of been all of the water I’d taken in during the gym session. When I finished I lifted my head got in the car and I felt fantastic, funnily enough I felt like going back into the gym energy levels at the highest they’d been for the day.
WTF!!! How does water in someones stomach cause this crazy tired!!!???

Wait. What? Smith Squats?..
smith squats…
i notice you said “must be my cold”
have you not considered it may be the fact you have a cold that is making you feel tired?

It can take time and bloodflow in the intestines to absorb a large volume of water. Exercising whilst your guts need blood is antagonistic.
Next time, don’t drink so much water so soon before training.[/quote]
I thought I deleted this thread… no matter…
THAT explains it much more, blood moving to the gut makes you tired, its not the workout and I know it wasn’t the workout because as soon as I expelled the water I was fine, all my energy came back and I actually went home and did some more work on the home gym.
