Tips On 6 Pack Please

i need help on how to get a lean and fit 6 pack and im not sure on how to get started. The best i do is try to take in as much protein as needed and work them everyday is there any other tips anyone can give me?

I would recommend that you start working out your entire body with heavy weights. There a tons of top notch programs on this site. The weight training will build muscle that will help lean out your stomach, and also make the rest of your body look stronger as well.

The main thing is diet. I dont have any links, but search for articles written by dr. John Berardi.

As far as working out your abs, just work them 2-3 times per week. They are like any other muscle, and do not need to be worked every day.

do a thousand crunches a day and buy the ab lounge…jk listen to the guy before me

Working them everyday is bad? or am i still able to get the same result if i worked them lets say, 4-5 times a week?

Can you read? Working on them is the very least of your worries. Diet is key. Work everything else. Read, listen carefully now, EVERY article classified under “traing” or “diet”.

Your stats list you at 160lbs with 20% body fat. That means you have very little muscle on your frame and too much body fat to be able to see your abs. That means, in order to not look like you are starving to death, your immediate goal should NOT be to just see your abs.

You should try gaining muscle all over and cleaning up your diet. You should work on gaining strength and size because trying to drop weight now will NOT produce the results you think it will because you have no muscle to make it look decent.

And also, adding some muscle to your frame will make losing the bodyfat in the long run so much easier.

The best way to get a 6 pack is to eat a TONNE of food, the abs get a workout by holding all that food in your gut. That’s how everyone else did it.

Seriously though I think it is good you don’t want to be fat, want to see your abs etc… but there are a lot of misconceptions out there regarding this. The way to go is to build muscle. You can work your abs 3x a week but they won’t really, REALLY grow and show unless you do big heavy lifts like squats to get your whole body growing.

THIS IS NOT THE CASE FOR EVERYONE.

Some people can be skinny, weak, no muscles, VERY visible abs. These people might have really thin skin, maybe they were born premature and don’t have much fat under their skin (known quite a few who were like this), maybe they are a race that is built that way.

YOU ARE NOT ONE OF THEM.

If you abs don’t show naturally then it is going to take some work to build up real muscle and you will also have to cut back some fat, but first, you need the fat + lots of eating to build the muscle in the first place. You cannot quickly do it the other way around. You want abs first by getting skinny you are going to have a long hard and frustrating journey.
