Tips for Motivation?

Wouldnt say I am new to bodybuilding/powerlifting but when Summer hits and my 60 hour gruelling week come I seem to give up on my goals. So lets hear what you guys do and maybe I will grow some balls this year and stop quitting.

The classic:

A personal favorite since she’s a local girl:

Or did you want things like, “Pick out your workout clothes the night before and leave them next to your bed.”

I have a home gym in a small one bedroom condo, I workout first thing in the morning. My multi rack sits right next to my bed too. So no excuses for me.

I am in the middle of exams right now, when I get tired I watch this.

find your inner motivation.

instead of trying to motivate yourself with a goal or something…

try and learn to find the joy in the moment. find the joy in the actual training. in the alone time.

some people find that harder than others…

i just mean… some people view training as pennance or something like that. then wonder why they can’t stick to it. other people… look forward to training all day. those people don’t quit.

@Chris Colucci, that was great, loved the godfather clip.

You either have it in you, or you don’t. There have been times when I had all the time in the world to train. That makes it easy, but sometimes life gets in the way and you have to get creative. At the end of a long day, I just think “ok, I’ve got the cardio out of the way…”

Oh good heavens, 60 hour work weeks? Try deploying, working 80+ hours a week and still lifting 5-6 days a week…

Find time!

I have a long working week, evening spent trying to spend time with friends and the wife, all this and wanting to bulk and play rugby on the weekends come winter.

find time, look at your day and see the wasted hours - TV watching, lack of prep the night before, no routine.

I’m motivated by a routine, a misson, a reason to train, a purpose is in front of me everyday.

Surround yourself with training, live it and it will stop being a fact of finding motivation but a habit you cannot kick!
