I’m superbly jealous of you chest-supported T-bar row as well. Dammit.
I’ll love to do FST-7 on that bad boy.
I don’t mind training when there’s still some soreness in my muscles, but I don’t expect the same strength. Don’t worry about missing the 92#.
Strong work though, I like that you dropped the weight on the BBB rather than just dropping it out of your agenda for today.
You’re a hell of a survivor.
I don’t know what bottom-up squats are, but sounds like a nice view for Nikki to look at from behind ;D
i love trying new gyms and seeing what cool stuff there might be lurking… i can’t imagine kimba training without the heavy bag sign, though. bottom up squats sound brutal. hmm… that probably means i should try some of those…
your easter dinner sounds delicious. i didn’t actually know that you could roast asparagus.
Joe, I’m glad to have company in my unreasonable love for the chest-supported t-bar row. I can do them in my gym using a bench and DBs, but I tend to go light and I just am not enthused.
Nikki, you’ve hit the issue: I almost never train while already sore. Generally I train only 3 days per week with a rest day in between so DOMS is usually not a problem. I was surprised at how much harder the training seemed than it “should” have been. Now I know the score.
kmc, it always surprises me to see how long I look in videos. I’m not tall! Camera tricks.
alexus, Meat recommended bottom up squats to me a while ago in order to dial in my form. Its harder to get away with form errors when you are coming up out of the hole from a dead stop. The problem is, my gym only has one squat rack with fixed rails. So when I see a power rack, I try to use it for these.
oh, and roasted asparagus is the MOST DELICIOUS way to prepare it. Put them on a baking sheet, drizzle with a bit of olive oil, sprinkle with salt and pepper and roast for 20 min. at 400 degrees F. Easy peasy.
Frenchie, I have been a cyclist for over 20 years. One thing I know how to do is ride. A nice 25-35 miles is an easy after-work ride. A 50 miler is a long-ish summer weekend ride. An 80-100 miler is a once-per-summer endeavor. In the gym I scouted out on Sunday, I saw a bunch of folks in a spin class. That looked shoot-me-in-the-head boring. Give me scenery to look at!
