Tiny Freak

You got in and got after it and thats whats important.

Soon the sun will return and that will mean white sand beaches, tequila shots, BBQ bacon shrimp amd football in the sand.

Kimba, I have the same problem with warmup. I don’t know how to do it properly to avoid burning out. I would think you would have researched the subject exhaustively by now.

Good for you for getting in there and training!

deja, I am trying to keep my head up. But the snowbank out my window is so high that I can’t see the street and there is more snow predicted for tomorrow. ARGHH!

Joe and Spider, thanks for the encouragement. It helps alot.

Rest day yesterday. Today’s training plan is uncertain.

The other night I had a dream that I was competing at a powerlifting meet. I got under the bar to squat it, unracked and then instead of waiting for the command to squat, someone in the audience yelled something and I ended up squatting too early. However, the judges gave me a good lift anyway.

I have no idea why this was in my dream. And I NEVER remember my dreams!

At least you got three white lights.

I like your dream. Of course you squatted early and didn’t wait for the command. You rebel. Sorry about the bad weather.

as long as you’re not dreaming of a short, dirty man muttering french and fiddling around with tools while he leans over top of you, you’ll be all right.

haha what a crazy dream.

so how come you don’t routinely take a trip to somewhere warm every jan or so???

i’ve promised myself that if i move to that hell up there that i will take a warm vacation at least once every single winter. or i will die. instantly.

Joe, considering my entire powerlifting career is contained in this dream, those may be the only white lights I ever get!

Nadia, indeed I am not much of a crowd-follower. Where is the fun of doing something the “normal” way?

Cbear, using that criteria I am TOTALLY FINE! Yikes, what an image.

deja, two years ago hubby and I went to Maui in January. It was wonderful while there, but the depression upon coming back to the snow and ice was really crushing. It actually works better for me to plan a ski vacation whereby we can enjoy what’s here anyway. Attitude is everything.

Today ended up to be another rest day. I can still feel those heavy rack pulls in my glutes. That tells me they are doing the job.

aww man. crushing depression upon return. :scared:

god that cold, dark stuff stinks. hope you guys catch a break before long.

at least you have some good bum pain to keep ya cheery. lol

Yes, those rack pulls are doing their job of giving you the perfect butt for jean ads!

Gawgeous, please get a spotter for the DB bench.
20 reps with 20s means that you should just get some assistance so you can pump out some high reps with the 30s

But doing them after bench… yeah, I see what happened. After bench, my chest goes on strike.

You always underestimate yourself girlie. You need someone to kick your ass a little

Sounds as if you’re all consuming over this? Don’t let the weather or the wts take you under. Their are so many other things that bring joy to your life, why not focus on those things for a bit. Completely change your outlook for a week. Just ‘do’ different, I bet you come back fresher, stronger, & w/a much more positive attitude.

Or you can just do what I do when I’m down in the mouth, look at that gorgeous smile in your opening pic…

Nikki, I have done the 30s on DB Presses for 3 x 10 before – I KNOW that I can do it and without a spotter. It just wasn’t happenin’ that day. And if the rack pulls are an ass-improvement-exercise, you can bet I’ll be over all them!

Bobbi, you are right. I’d welcome it. Maybe its time to shake things up 'round here.

print, thanks for the kick in the butt! It certainly is time for a fresher outlook. And, I do appreciate your kind words. I debated whether putting that pic on my opening post in this log was a good idea, and now I think it was.

I’m planning a late-ish training tonight so as not to fight the right-after-work crowd. What I’m looking forward to working is…RACK PULLS. Instead of squatting twice a week, I think I’m gonna try the heavy rack pulls twice a week to see if I can jump start my deads. That is my favorite lift, and what better way to groove a better attitude than to work on something I really, really love?

I’ll take your snow if you take my freezing rain? Deal?

Enjoy your rack pulls tonight!

This is a fantastic idea.

I love it! Can’t wait to hear how it goes.

sorry homey, was a tolstoy reference.

i think working rack pulls for awhile will be a good break for ya.

i also think you’re avoiding squat rehab. can’t really blame ya, i hate that shit as well.

but i will agree with bobbi. you need your ass kicked sometimes. we all do. thats why we’re here.

LastStand, freezing rain! That is worse than my snow, fer sure. Be careful out there.

pch & spider, thanks for the encouragement. I will try to kick some ass.

CBear, I am shockingly ill-read for all my fancy-ass edumacation. Can’t fool you – yep, I am mentally unable to face squat rehab right now. Rack pulls are an effort to get my head right. And, the kicks in my ass – they hurt so good.

If rack pulls will make you happy tonight, than do them. Sq rehab ain’t going nowhere. Time to get yourself back into a groove, whether it be rack pulls, eating pizza, running, whatever puts you in your happy space…Do it!

Don’t over think or over analyze. Easier said than done, I know. But you’re a smart, confident, well built woman. So you can accomplish this.

I’m doing everything I just told you rt now… being you’re a Celts/Sox/Pats fan… OHHH the horror.
