Tiny Freak Goes Ninja

holy hell woman. seriously, all of your hard work and dedication is quite evident!

and i love that orange watch. i’ve been meaning to mention that for like, 3 months now!

kimba - love the black bikini on that great bod of yours!

Kimba you look god damn fantastic.

Err excuse the um enthusiasm.

Thanks for the kind comments. They made me feel better after my crappy training day yesterday.

I finally pulled my head out of my ass and re-mounted my pull-up bar. Three pullups (matching my best effort ever with this grip) also helped me feel less like a lifting wannabe. Perhaps a modified 60 day challenge is in my future.

Today’s training was a run/walk of 2 min strides/1 min walk x 7. My only goal was to run just under the point of IT band irritation, and I succeeded in this. I took the time to appreciate the sun, the blue sky and the crisp, cool morning air. Every day on the road is a good day.

finally cracked and bought some lulu’s. I have a rep thing to do for a sports supps company this weekend and I realized my walmart gymwear wouldn’t cut it.

got some pants, a tank top and some micro shorts which should look smashing in my next vid

60 day pullup challenge? I’m listening.

YEAH BABY!! Trust me, you will not be sorry. Unless, of course, you don’t like attention.

OK, this is far too little information. Please tell me you got the reverse groove pants and the boogie shorts. Because those would be seriously traffic-stopping on you. I have the reverse groove shorts cause I’m too skeered for the boogie. Which tank? There are actually only a few lulu tanks that work for me, but you’ve got more front porch to fill them out. All the tanks in my vids are Cool Racerbacks (the ones without the built in bra) and all the yoga pants are reverse grooves.

Nadia, I am intrigued by the 60 day challenge that Joe just did. My problem is that I don’t recover quickly enough from upper body workouts to do pullups every day. I’m playing with whether every other day could work (a 120 day challenge???).

Just took my hiking boots out of the closet. Yosemite next month, people. And I’m getting excited!

oh ya, so hot!!!

mmm mmm mmmmm, lifting does a body GOOD!

1- pants: astro pants, black with a black & white waistband. the softlines waistband suits my imperfect hips and belly. Doesn’t dig into the skin.

2- Boogie shorts as you guessed - in black. boom! can’t wait to squat in them.

3- top: scoop neck tank (racer back) in solid aqua with built in support.

Betty, thanks! Lifting does do a body good. Skinny-fat is what I’d be without lifting.

Frenchy, I can see you in the Astros. Those don’t stay up on me very well due to lack of hip-age, but they are very cute pants. Yay for the boogie shorts! BOOM! We all can’t wait for you to squat in them.

So much to catch up on over here.

You are really making me want to get back in the gym and be able to do some OH squats. Looks great. And making me feel better about trying to progress mine. I can’t hold more than about 25 pounds above my head and do those. So hard for me, but I’m looking forward to getting back to them.

And look at those cuts down the sides of your obliques. And the tone in your quads. And the delt development looks just fantastic. Kimba, you look great in that little black suit. Definitely not skinny fat anymore. YAY for looking better in your 40’s than you looked in your 30’s! Made me think of that quote about how “The fountain of youth is found on the end of a heavy barbell.” You are the proof!

PP, I was discouraged by OH squats for a long time because I couldn’t hold the oly bar overhead on them. Then my gym bought a short 28# straight bar and I was in business! That plus my fractional plates really helped this lift become possible for me. You are a strong biotch and will soon be way ahead of me on OH squats. Plus you’ve got a narrower waist than moi.

What an unexpected pleasure to have a better body at age 46 than I ever did in my 20s and 30s. I did not set out to make that happen, but I feel damned lucky to get this little present.

Nothing makes me happier than a good deadlift day.

Military Press (5/3/1 week)
48# 1 x 5
54# 1 x 3
60.5# 1 x 3 <–PR + .5 lbs.

I am bringing these down to a bit below my chin, instead of all the way to my chest. I think it was in sb’s log that I read this. What is considered full ROM in a military press?

Sumo Deadlifts
from floor
95# 1 x 5 <–doing a little better on deficit pulls
115# 1 x 5
135# 1 x 5
155# 1 x 3
belt on:
175# 1 x 1 <–looked pretty good
185# 1 x 1 <–no video cause the camera fell. :frowning:

Sumo Rack Pulls (one step each side/no risers)
205# 1 x 1 <–this was so hard! PR +10 lbs.
185# 1 x 2 <–glutes and hammies were done

This was the most I’ve ever pulled from this low (one step), and it was HEAVY. My respect to the chicks who pull over 200 lbs. from the damn floor. Geez.

RDLs
135# 1 x 10

From this video it doesn’t look like I go really low, but my hammies were getting a good stretch and after this set my glutes were toast. Form critiques welcome.

Dr. Clay’s Shoulder Triad
7.5s 2 x 10, 1 x 8

How can so little weight, burn so much?

great PRs kimba!

on the MP - there is no competition standard that I know about but many of us only bring the bar to below the chin as a shoulder saver.

And we all thank you and share in your pleasure.

When it was an actual contested lift in the Olympics, the bar had to start from the shoulders after being cleaned from the floor.

I think it’s all the itty, bitty rotator cuff muscles. When they get tired they scream as loud or louder than the big 'uns.

Good work ninja-kimba.

Im a long time lurker, first time poster. You have amazing mouth watering flexibility. Although I would like for you take up the offers of those sammiches and bulk for 2-3 months. I think the results will be amazing.

And more pics of you in bikinis please.

yeah, i always lower my presses back to the rack position so they are resting on my delts - but that is because i think of presses as progressions towards jerks. i don’t suppose it matters - i mean, i suppose it is different depending on what your aim with them is.

i think it is wonderful that you feel happier about your body now than you used to. i’m hoping that is going to be the case for me, as well. i already feel better about my body in my 30’s than i ever have. i expect it will take a few more years yet for me to get my nutrition dialled in properly - but i’ll expect to feel a lot happier about my body once that has happened. but as for now… i’m not getting fat… i’m bulking. i need that on a t-shirt, i think :-/

I usually do my RDLs until there is that pulling stretchy feeling too.

Again, impressed with your back and the bikini!

some people feel rdl’s without going so low and it depends on there flexibility.

I like lighter weight so I can take it to the flo’

Awesome prs kimba! Congrats.

congrats on the PR’s!

and I stop my millies below the chin cause I saw the over 35 crowd do it.
