Has anyone with Tinnitus has experienced any negatives or positives side effects regarding Tinnitus intensity loudness after starting TRT? or did TRT cause your tinnitus to begin with? I have had tinnitus for about 9months, and I was wondering if TRT would make it any worse or any better or same. Thanks for any feedback.
The last few weeks I have been finding my car radio annoyingly loud and after my injection this morning my ears are constantly ringing. I’ve always had exceptional hearing, Tinnitus started when I began injecting EOD which happens to be the only protocol where my body responds to TRT strongly.
I’ve never been able to handles headphones in my ears, too sensitive. There’s always Tinnitus Retraining Therapy which has a high success rate long term.
Hi systemlord, have you long have you been on TRT? are you taking any other medications, like cialicis, aspirin? you are describing sensitivity to sound as your symptoms (hyperacusis) not avoiding normal sounds (sounds that don’t bother most people) helped my ears recover from hyperacusis (they were too sensitive.
I’ve been on TRT for over a year but was on ineffective protocols most of that time, the sensitivity to sounds was never bothersome or produced any symptoms before TRT.
I’m on Cypionate 20mg EOD and anastrozole also EOD, I had tinnitus before when doing 20mg EOD without the anastrozole. When my hormone levels were lower my ears were just more sensitive, now that my levels are higher the ringing has started.
I’m also on peptides.
TRT has not affected my Tinnitus at all.
Not sure if it’s connected but I’ve had bad trinnitus since starting TRT. Lasted about four months and slowly got better for a while. Though it’s started to come back again this week. Not sure if it’s connexted to E2 or not. Also been getting sensitivity to loud noises… FYI, I’m also injecting EOD.
in your opinion which one is worse, the tinnitus increasing in loudness and or sensitivity or the hormonal imbalance?
I’ll take the hormonal imbalances any day of the week, because I know that won’t last past 6 weeks, however the tinnitus can be longer lasting. I’ve had 4-5 ear infections and one sinus infection since starting TRT, prior to TRT I can’t remember the last time I had an ear infection.
Tinnitus is one of those things that is still a mystery because is originates deep in the brain. There can be a number of different things that cause it, that make it worse, or that make it better. Interestingly enough, ringing in the ears is not listed as a possible side effect of TRT or HRT.
The story of my life, ever since the age of 12 I’ve been on medications (not anymore) and experience side effects not listed as one of the official side effects. Doctors can measure or diagnose tinnitus, you could say it’s all in your head and that wouldn’t be too far from the truth.
I have been dealing with tinnitus for the entire time I’ve been on TRT. I don’t know if it has to do with the ED meds, the TRT, or years of loud exposure. At only 27 its a bit disheartening.
I had my ears checked out about a month ago, and we discovered that I have negative pressure in one of my ears due to Eustachian tube dysfunction. I’ve been using anti-inflammatory nasal spray for about a month now, and for the first three weeks the tinnitus was getting worse. Then, a few days ago at work it felt like my right ear farted. I could hear it in great detail because I had earplugs in. Immediately after that, and to this day my tinnitus has been significantly reduced.
I had no other symptoms of negative pressure for what its worth.
High blood pressure does cause ringing in the ears. A tumor that presses on blood vessels in your head or neck can cause tinnitus and other symptoms. Hypertension and increased blood pressure, alcohol and caffeine, can make tinnitus more noticeable.
I have had ringing in my ears since my 20’s. On TRT for 12.5 years and it is worse, but was always getting worse. So no conclusions…
The ringing in my ears has gotten bad over the past few weeks. I wonder if trt or getting older is a factor. I don’t drink or have hypertension.
Your tinnitus ever get better on TRT?
Hi @Jaydem , I can tell you that tinnitus is still there but the brain adapts after sometime and you tune it out. It’s kind of hard to imagine that it does this because once you first notice the ringing in the ear that’s all you focus on (your brain), after a while once you realize that that is harmless, you tune it out and live just fine with it. I still have tinnitus after eight plus years. It doesn’t bother, if I focus on it I still hear it. Try to live a health life style because that has many other benefits and try to live your life as normal as possible which helps to shift your focus from hearing the ringing and your brain eventually tunes it out.
Wishing you well.
So your @systemlord ?
Your tinnitus ever go away?
