Inspiring progress man!! You are kicking butt big time! I love Nate Miyaki’s philosophy on eating, I have recently switched over to his style of nutrition and I feel great. You can eat a SHOCKING amount of vegetables without going too high calorie wise, plus you get the benefits of high fiber. I have to say that keeping the protein high like Nate suggests has done wonders for my performance in the gym. Keep up the good work, I’m pulling for you
Thank you. The biggest change for me to deal with was the protien only breakfast, but once I switched and committed to it I feel great and am not even hungry a lot of times at lunch.
I know the feeling! Anything other than breakfast and my after workout meal (I lift at about 6 or 7PM) is more eating for function than true hunger.
My workout felt like shit tonight. I ended up doing the “Jack Shit” version of 5/3/1.
Deadlift
285 x 5
315 x3
355 = FAIL
335 x 2
My grip was failing terribly! My right hamstring is still feeling a little tweaky from good mornings last Friday, I lifted late, and I think the cardio might have been a little much. Now that I have laid all of my excuses out there I can only look forward to the rest of the week and make sure everything is on point.
After getting out of bed this morning I realized what my problem was last night with my workout…all the trees around here are blooming and I now have a head full of crap and feel I have been run over by a truck. Time to get back on the allergy meds and get this thing tamed so I can get back to my regular programming. I am glad today is a scheduled day off!
I can identify with this problem… I hope you get it cleared up quickly. Allergy season here lasts about 9 months a year, or so it seems!
After taking medication this morning I am feeling slightly better, hopefully it holds!

So are you a roller or do you throw it with a bit of back spin?
What surface do you play on?

I try to do both depending upon what my options are. We play on a really fine gravel. I play in a league at a local Pub and Grill, its more of a reason to get together and drink a few beers.

AWESOME!
Last week was a deload week an I chose to real deload and only lifted 2 days, I did do some cardio so I wasnt a complete slug. I started the day off with my annual physical, weight was still good, my blood pressure was 133/80 (a little high, but still alright), and the doc ordered a full panel including A1C, Test, and prelimanary prostate stuff. I go back to see him in 10 days. Outside of the blood draw, everything else was good. My left knee has been a little painful in in a different spot from the tendonitis, he examined it and said passed up the location of the pain its either arthritis or a meniscus and if it gets any worse or I just want it taken care of we would get an MRI done and go from there, also have some soreness on the inside of my left elbow that gets agravated with pressing motions and squats, he said that was easily taken care of with a steriod injection. I am lucky to have found this Dr, he is a family practice doc who went on to do a speciality in non-invasive ortho. He is one of the few around here that do PRP injections, so I think I am in pretty good hands. Its hell getting older! LOL!
Life events have gotten in the way of my posting for the last week or two, it has not gotten in the way of lifting though. I decided that since I have a follow up with my Dr on Friday and I have decided to cardio it only this week and retest my 1rm for 5/3/1. Since March 9th I have increased my military press by 10lbs to 155, I almost had 160 but it stalled halfway up and I just couldnt power thru it. After that I am hoping to have done the same for the rest of my lifts.
50 mins of walking (3.8 miles)
1 rm on Deadlifts
old 1 rm 405 back in March
New 1 rm as of today 435! Hell yes even while losing weight.
