More size? Trust me, I’m trying but it’s not that easy, guys. If I’ve gained 3lbs of lean mass this past year, then I’m happy with that.
I was under the impression you’ve been in a deficit over the past year which is why I asked, my mistake.

Ah, Ok I was on a bulking diet from september - march. I guess my weight stalled out at about 200lbs. I gained some strength, most of which I’ve kept while dieting. I suck at the big lifts though.
I started the VD in april, was on it for four weeks, then started eating mostly white fish and veggies. Kcal-intake got rediculously low as usual. 1000 kcal/day was the bottom limit. At the moment I’m just maintaing as I have a couple of exams coming up.

Were you cycling your calories that low, i.e. 1000 kcal/day on non-training days? Were you ever utilizing refeeds or cheat days/meals when dieting?
I ate 1000kcal/day mostly on non-training days, but sometimes I’d eat no more on training days.
For the first 6-8 weeks of dieting, I ate a lot of cheat foods on weekends, but these days I try to keep away from junk food. I eat a bit more on refeed days, maybe 1-2 days/week.

OP, what is your theory on extremely low cal diets for fat loss? Do you experience muscle loss?
T-Nation members advocate as high cals, pro as possible when cutting… obviously you have experienced good results with a different method
My opinion and experience is that one does not lose muscle mass when dieting unless you’re a steroid user who’s off cycle while cutting kcal very low. As long as you’re training hard, you won’t lose much lean mass, if at all.
I don’t know anything about steroids, but I’ve been told that it can be harder to keep gains, especially if you’re hardly eating.

wow. the very definition of a mirror man.
The mirror shows my back just fine, dude. But I never look in the mirror. Not even while shaving. I don’t think bodybuilders should check their body in the mirror. It’s not how I was raised and it’s not what I believe in.
Ok, enough bullshit.
I’m doing chins with bodyweight + 90lbs for 6 reps, so it’s not for lack of trying.
It seems people get pissed off at someone who chooses to only develop certain muscle groups to their full potential. Like it’s morally wrong to have shitty traps for instance. That’s an idiotic approach.
I have NOT made that choice and people still find the need to whine like little bitches about my underdeveloped back and legs. I love getting feedback, but can’t it be constructive? No? It’s the internet, so you have to be a dick?
Some muscle groups just grow easier than others. Now, there’s something you don’t see every day.
Besides, my back isn’t as bad as it looks. I have a slight thoracic kyphosis, so both my lats and middle+lower trapz kind if disappear. On the plus side, I can be at 20% body fat while having a completely flat stomach due to the total lack of lumbar lordosis.

Na, your back is fine with respect to the rest of you. As previously mentioned, your legs are the lagging group that in my eyes require the most attention.
Yeah, my legs aren’t very good. Calves are the worst though. I train them till my ears bleed, yet I can’t make them grow. Genetics can be a bitch. I have good genetics for building arms though, so I shouldn’t complain.
Thanks for the feedback
Hmmm, great progress man, but…I’m sad to say This Rating isn’t an official rating untill Yolked Up Yolkifies it into perfection with his humble but true wisdom.
dude you have an outstanding lean and ripped physique! chest and shoulders look awesome and that biceps split is great. you’re progress over a years time is incredible. can’t wait to see you put on some size. excellent job!

IF those are “decent wheels,” then mine are incredible.
Yeah, from the front and the side he looks really great. But if the first thing I saw was his legs or back, I wouldn’t guess he lifts weight. And no, it’s not “morally wrong” to have a goofy physique, but it’s still going to make it hard for a lot of people to respect you.

Oh c’mon! I think his legs look proportionate to the rest of his physique. He’s no Phil Heath but he definitely looks like he lifts weights. Just because someone might say “he’s got great biceps” and not “he’s got great legs” doesn’t mean he’s got a goofy looking physique. I think you’re being a bit too critical. But then again, that’s why people post their pics here… for the criticism.
