Time for a TV Upgrade?

My wife and I have been drooling over LCD tv’s for a while, and it looks like my old SDTV is just about to go on the fritz anyway, so I’m wondering if I should upgrade or not. I don’t really have anything in my house that would realistically warrant getting an HDTV right now. No HD package on cable, no current-gen game consoles or HD players, so I don’t know if it’s worth the money to get a High Def set. But it’s really not even a huge investment anymore, I could get a 32" lcd for 6 or $700, so I was hoping for some input from the T-men who have made the leap.
Thanks.

I took the plunge and got a 50" DLP back in September. We were looking at DLP’s, Plasmas, and LCD’s, and took the DLP based on picture quality. I have not been disappointed.

Pay the small difference in price for the HD, because you will wind up getting something that puts out an HD picture sooner or later. Sports in HD is simply on a different level than the old school picture.

Fuck an A, I can’t even stand to watch non-HD games anymore. I got a plasma less than a year ago and have since become a huge HD snob. It really does look that much better.

Get it, you can always get rabbit ears to watch the local HD stations until you get hooked up with the rest of the stuff.

go there and it will tell you what digital channels are in your area. if you can get good channels over the air then get one.
