I’m with Tim. Atleast someone had the balls to say it, wether he backed it up or not.

Then he should have had the balls to stand behind it and not apologize later.

Understandable. That’s why I worded it the way I did. I’m homophobic also and it didn’t matter what the bulls looked like at the bus stop. Just b/c it’s public doesn’t mean we have to have gayness thrown in our faces.

I don’t want my kids witnessing that shit. I don’t raise Queers, bet that on your life.
Well sir. You have nothing to be afraid of.

And do u think my mom and dad raised a queer? Honestly? Do you think that my American mother and Chinese (!) father sat down when i was young and said… “You know what? We should raise a son who will face adversity and be looked down upon as a second rate or degenerate citizen. Yes, our son should have to endure years of taunts and media hatred and be denied things! Oh and yes, lets make it so that people tell our son that he is going to go to some Hell for eternity!”

Do you REALLY think that i was exposed to man on man action as a child? I dont even think i really knew what gay/queer/fag was until i was in junior high school… i just knew that it wasnt something i liked being called anymore then i liked being called chink/jap (even though i am half Chinese not Japanese).

Come on… get with it! Who REALLY chooses to be gay? I REALLY hate to be the bearer of bad news but if one of your children ends up being gay there is nothing you could have done to prevent it, and there is nothing that you did to cause it. It just is.

Stop thinking that some psuedo-religious teaching is correct. None of us choose this. The only thing we choose is whether or not we stand behind what we really are, again with courage in our convictions, or if we will cower behind a facade of what our parents/preachers/teachers teach us is “right” using tools of fear (homo-PHOBIA) and hate.

Why should anyone have to apologize for exercising freedom of speech? This PC bullshit has gone too far. No-one has the right to not be offended. I don’t agree with homosexuality but I respect Agent Frost for his honesty and not trying to wave the PC banner.

He has the right to believe whatever he wants but he should be held responsible for what he says. People who hear that might think the entire league is anti-gay because of his remarks and that might not be entirely true. He should have thought about what he said before he said it, but like most of those players, they don’t have a lot of brains, just a lot of money.

That is my point exactly. No one should have to apologize for saying what they feel. I may not like it, but oh well. I’ll suck it up and walk it off.

And in the long run i may respect that man for saying what he said.

However all respect was completely lost by his apologizing and being a coward and not standing up for what he REALLY believes in.

Shit, I love a good Gene Kelly musical. Singin’ in the Rain, An American in Paris are great movies. I have seen them a million times.

There is no doubt, you are curious otherwise you would not have used two question marks.

More question marks. Curiouser and curiouser.

“We”? Who’s “we”? How about “we” don’t have to have any public sexuality thrown in “our” faces? Deal?
Four more question marks…

I’m seeing a pattern here…

Hardaway just got banned from the All Star game weekend.

Agent Frost, please forgive my ignorance. But the ONE question I had is, “Do gay people check out men all the time as a hetero checks out a woman?”

I mean, if I walked into a locker room where all women were in. I wouldnt know what to do with myself.

What you are attracted too is what you are attracted too, I was wondering what you have to say in that regard.

I’m sure you could think of atleast one thing to do with yourself!

That is a very valid question. And i can only speak to what gay man do, not gay women.

Let me start by saying that my own insecurities, as i have already addressed, keep me from checking out almost anyone, anywhere, anytime. Honestly i dont even check out guys at the bar… which might be on of the reasons why im the dancer, they can check me out and approach me. My demons and issues from past experiences.

Having said that i will say that i am probably the exception to the rule. Men are men… and men are dogs. I am going to have to say that indeed if there is a gay guy at your gym, and chances are there is, you probably got checked out… probably!

NOW, it is my experience that many gay men, not all, are intelligent enough to know that that’s where it stops. Take a look or two and then go about your buisness. It is also my experience that if u are an average joe, or mediocore in any way, no gay man is going to look at you. You need to be extremely good looking, built, dressed well, whatever to have a gay man look at you.

It kills me when these disgusting over weight, overly furry, balding, men talk about “I dont want no butt pirate checking me out!” Trust me… we aren’t! You need to be almost fitness magazine air-brushed perfect!

SO, if a gay guy does check you out, take it as a compliment on your hard work. They are totally admiring you, your physique etc etc etc, and a lot of times, deep down, we are really really jealous of you. They are admiring you with more then whats in their pants because u gotta be kick ass banging hot as magma hot if we are checking you out. And that means that the ladies will be thinking so to.

A perfect physical male is naturally the ideal, for bot gay men and women. But to gay men its more. To have a perfect physical shell is almost a form of validation… yes i AM manly, i have muscles like He-Man and G. I. Joe. I am JUST like that str8 guy over there, OR i am BETTER then the average male. The psychology of it is that a lot of us feel it makes up for something we lack. So a gay guy checking out a str8 guy… or any guy… usually goes a lot deeper then carnal thoughts and whims.

I didnt really mean to get all deep and go there in answering you, and to any gay guys who read this sorry if i hit a nerve… dont get defensive. And if you do… examine WHY exactly you got defensive.

Great post. This is something that a lot of people seem to be missing on this thread. No one is disputing he can say whatever he wants or hold whatever views he wants, no matter how ignorant. But he is responsible for what he says and whatever reaction comes along.

And of course the league is going to distance themselves from this guy. Why wouldn’t they? They’re a business. Would you keep someone around your company that espouses (to the world) racist rants? Of course you wouldn’t, so why is everyone acting like they are so tough with the “He can say whatever he wants and should not have been censured in any way.” That’s absurd.

Thank you for clarifying.

Anytime Easy…

And let me tell u… that was kinda hard to write.

I also thank you for writing that. It actually reaffirms what I thought about the whole gay guys checkin’ out straight guys question.

I disapprove of what you say, but I will defend to the death your right to say it.

Fortunately, in this country Tim Hardaway, like each of us, has the right to believe anything he wants. He even has the right, and some may say responsibility, to say it. One of the many problems with America today is that if you’re famous and the media disagrees with what you say you’ll be the pariah of the week and then you’ll go to rehab and all will be forgiven.

Sadly, he chose to spew forth a venomous diatribe against a group of people. Nothing in what he said leads me to believe that there was an individual person or incident that he was speaking about. In this case, he is no different than a Klansman preaching their own form of hatred. Prejudice is prejudice no matter how it’s presented.

To follow up his lashing out with a half-hearted effort at an apology simply shows his cowardice in the face of scrutiny.

This “apology” makes me doubt that he “hates” gays.

If I really hate someone I have a reason and no problems whatsoever to tell anyone that asks.

If I love to hate someone because I?m a bit on the insecure, inmature side, I apologise half assed, because it was never cold naked hatred anyway.

I don?t think he hates gays, he just loves his prejudices and the simple world he lives in, because it does not make his brain hurt.

Yes, for the kids sake.
