It’s all about delivery and context. Most things one says or types have absolutely minimal to do with the actual content of the message.
The delivery is the paramount thing, followed by the context.
A real life example?Take any number of arguments with our wives, girlfriends or significant others.
While as guys we may have thought we said A),it was taken as B).
And on the web it is notoriously difficult to ascertain delivery, tone and other cues we use subconsciously in face to face or telephonic communication.
So what do we use to judge?Prior posting history.
Can ‘articulate’ be a complement?Absolutely.
Can it be a slur?Definately.
The word is just that,a word.It doen’t change meaning from one type of usage to another.
Intent, context and delivery are the variables here.
It’s almost a total mystery to me how anyone can conclude that calling someone “articulate” is somehow a racial slam.

it is all in the delivery, intent and context of this word, for example when someone states there’s a articulate aboriginal, its context and sub story is the rest of the aboriginals are not or there’s a sober aboriginal, i cannot see how it can be a total mystery how this word can be a racial slam unless you walk around with blinkers on.

The rest of us recognize that when someone else gets complimented, only the most petty and insecure (professor x, and company) believe it has anything to do with themselves or anyone else.

Is the ‘‘rest of us’’ the majority? as for the petty and insecure, have you walk a mile in a minorites shoes?
It’s a pity that professor x has more temerity than he does good old- fashioned logic. If it were the other way around this debate would have ended many pages ago.

If based on logic yes, but this topic also is depenedent on the context, intent and delivery, context being the most inportant in my view.
But then that would mean a concession on the part of professor x. And as we have all learned from his thousands of endless obnoxious rants he’s never wrong, just ask him.

Well, guess he’s not the only one with endless obnoxious rants.
Does this twisted logic bear out in other walks of life, or is it just the professors race?
No, It bears out in other races/religion that are not the majority, you should get out more and experience the wider world.

That was sarcasm. If you read the following example of someone working on a project you would have understood.
No wait…you’re aussie, you don’t understand much.

Six posts to type a few lines? If I were you I wouldn’t accuse anyone of being obnoxious. I don’t think that there’s anyone on this forum who could top you in that category. But then again trolls are usually obnoxious.
Yes…you’re still a TROLL. And apparently no amount of feigning interest in this topic will help that.
