Thyroid Testing And Weight Loss

Does anyone know if there types of tests for a thyroid problem? Or is it just one basic blood test and from there they can determine if its active/inactive.

The reason i ask is because my girlfriend has been trying like hell to lose weight. At 4’10" 135 she has an A-frame type body. The diets we have tried are basiclly T-dawg in nature. At first we did the T-dawg 2.0 She got around 1500cal/day. 70gr carbs on non workout days and a 100g workout days. After not seeing much results and talking to Tampa-Terry and some other people here she dropped fruit/dairy from her diet. She basically just stuck to meat/eggs/vegetables type stuff. After several months she got down to 125lbs, but it was long slow progress, and we did not see a whole lot of visual difference.

Well now she is back up to 135lbs. Christmas plus starting a job as a teacher made things hectic. She has started her diet again, is lifting three days a week Total Body style, and does two or three cardio sessions. Its been about three weeks with no real change.

I have urged her to get thyroid checked again as i thought perhaps the first time they did not do it right or something. The tests came back that her thyroid was working fine.

Anyways, sorry for the long winded post. I am just kind of at wits end and dont know what to do to help her lose weight. I have urged her to perhaps give the Velocity Diet a thought, but i am having trouble convincing her.

thanks
