I’ve noticed that on bench( I bench close) and overhead press I’m stronger and more comfortable with a thumbless grip but on incline bench it feels better with my grip closed. Is it maybe because of the angle of incline it doesn’t involve the lats/tricep feel as much? Just got me thinking.
And by closed grip on incline I mean my thumbs are wrapped around the bar
It’s wrist flexibility.
On flat bench, the bar is cradled more using suicide grip so it feels reasonably safe and stable.
On incline bench, the bar is far less cradled using suicide grip.
It doesn’t really matter regardless; dumbbells are better for hypertrophy anyways.
