Thrown Out for Grunting

Lol we have a pretty good crowd here compared to most gyms, world champion bodybuilders, athletes, ect.

Our equipment is more condusive to muscle building than any other gym in the city in fact.

We have equipment that can’t be found elsewhere, those that know anything really appreciate it.

We focus on strength training and less cardio here, the reverse of all other gyms it seems.

You’ve got barbells and dumbells and no other gym in your area has them?

wow you guys need to calm down…

Our main goal is not the rules, that is a simple side part of the gym that 99% of people have no problem obeying. I am not “controlling” them by asking to follow a few rules if they want to use my facility, there are rules everywhere you go in life…
So how many warnings do people get? Or, as in the case being discussed, are people met with an armed response every time a rule is contravened? Or is it only the ones who look like meatheads that get the armed response?

It’s funny how a business can simply put a rule in place and have the police effectively enforce it for them, yet the same rules outside of that establishment would be deemed to be on par with anything dreamed up in Hitler’s fantasies or Orwell’s nightmares.

Who owns PF anyways? Cartman?

Carol Palazzolo’s lame-duck request for police to “escort a member out of the club for grunting while working out…which is not conforming with the rules of the establishment” is nothing more than corporate-bitch-speak for “Respect my authoritah!”

Her over-the-top reactions are more intimidating to me than anything else. I wouldn’t work out there with that Nazi running the Planet Fascist show. If I accidentally grunt while lifting, I’ll probably drop the weight out of fear of her over-zealous wrath.

People always seem happy on the outside in a police state…

I agree with you. I don’t even make much noise at all when lifting, but I would hate to be in a situation where I am now “making sure” that I don’t make a sound for fear of losing a membership. That would be on my mind more than lifting the damn weight, which is the real reason I’m supposed to be there.

Are people put out for talking? My guess is, it is perfectly fine to sit around on equipment and gab about shit non-training related, but heaven help you if get under 1200lbs on a leg press and let out a peep.

Is somebody forcing you guys to work out in that facility or something? This is just silly.

What’s with all the whining?

No one’s forcing me to eat at McDonald’s, does that mean I shouldn’t be allowed to critique their food?

Am I then whining if I say the food at McDonald’s is absolute shit, even though no one is forcing me to eat there?

Look, the rule is indicative of the complete pussification of damn near everything nowdays.

Exactly. Like mentioning that “Q” facility in Texas years ago, I did work out there ONCE before I found a better gym. I wouldn’t ever go there again, but that never stopped me from taking every opportunity to point out how ridiculous they were whenever the topic came up.

No, they aren’t forcing anyone to work out there. Yes, they are being retarded unless someone is truly just being loud and obnoxious. While I don’t have a goal of making much noise while lifting a weight, I would think an environment that actually focuses in on this is an environment that will actually keep people from going all out and actually making some real progress.

Noise level should be a concern with cell phones and relative talking, not when pressing 2 times your body weight or more.

Right on the money. This topic made me think about how much noise that I actually do make while lifting. What did I conclude? Well I realized that grunting is something I’ve never worried about because it isn’t something involved in my goals!

The people are wasting too much energy enforcing these stupid rules when they could be coming up with a better buisness plan to be able to serve more customers.

If they don’t want to be intimidated, they have roads, they have sidewalks, and hell they don’t even need shoes! There are no excuses about being intimidated… ever. You live in a two story building - run stairs. Do you own any objects that weight over 25 pounds? Lift them!

These gyms are just a thorn in the side of real athletes who are there to accomplish goals. Apparently being goal driven is being a “lunk.”
Kruiser wrote:

But, MOST people don’t want such extremes. They feel more comfortable in their shiny fitness centers and Toyota Camrys. Let them! If everyone were shared our intensity and love for the iron we wouldn’t feel quite so special, now would we?

Lift, and Let Lift, I always say.
it’s not about feeling special, it’s about being classed as a “meathead” if i lift with any intensity above mediocre. in fact, it is more of an insult to be classed as these fatty go lucky, lackluster, swiss ball squating, no scales because i fell intimidated, grunting makes me scared, douche bag cocksmokers. i’d rather be classified as a “wannabe mtv gangsta” than that horse shit.

the fact of the matter is, by fooling them into thinking they are doing any damn good it allows them to justify their day to day poor habits. i’ll just burn it off at the gym tommorow(with a set of 1" squats and 20 minutes on my cell phone while walking on the treadmill). that is a terribly easy disease to spread, justification without any actual work. where have i seen this before…oh yea, organized religion and we all know how that shit spreads like wild fire. before you know it we’ll have to be hiding out in alley ways to get a “lifting fix” before the wambulance comes to take us away for breaking the no heavy lifting, anti-intimidation laws.

FUCK THAT, YOU CAN HAVE MY HEAVY DUMBELLS WHEN YOU PRY THEM FROM MY COLD DEAD(WELL DEVELOPED AND MUSCULAR) FINGERS.

lift heavy or die bitches

“By the way, who’s kay?”

Oh my stars and fucking garters, you are a lackwit.

That’s cute that you try to write off your last post as sarcasm, but we all know the truth: it wasn’t; you really are the stupidest fuck here.

What pictures should I post? Ones of me looking fat in a sweatshirt? or posing next to my weed? or of my supercool gun?

(I’m making fun of you now. I didn’t think you would be able to tell. Cuz, you know: you’re a stupid little twatwaffle.)

Seriously, though: say “dankalicious” again. I double-dare you.

OK children we are cutting off the posts to this thread that have no content other than petty pissing match B.S.

Please make an attempt to try and tie something into the topic
Mod FKATO

Maybe there should be a forum where people could practice their name calling. There doesn’t have to be a topic to tie into as such. Just a space where the internet tough guys can vent at each other, threaten women, invent new grammer and sharpen all their other tough guy practices.

It could also be used a resource for budding tough guys to see how established ones behave and garner new ideas.

Haha, SWEET photo. PGA obviously does it better, but yours is funnier.

Prof X, I can’t believe there is actually a gym that bans tank tops. I was once asked to put my shirt back on because I was making the senior citizens feel inadequate even though it was like 90 degrees in the basement that I was a member of at the time.

We didn’t get that crap in college gyms, but they are run by and attended by people who actually can appreciate a shirtless body.

As for BGB’s gym: it’s HER gym. I don’t understand why people would rag on her fot that rule when they don’t live anywhere near Ontario, thus they wouldn’t have to choose her gym if they wanted to train.

Gyms have rules, and money talks. If you don’t like your gym’s rules, work out elsewhere or save up for a Bowflex.

Oh no… It has finally happened. Someone used the word “nurture” on this site. Soon hell will be an ice rink and we will need to duck to avoid flying donkeys. Say, is that a primate emerging from my buttocks?

you would fit right in “tough guy”. shit i know harris and myself would see you there. except there you cant in-directly attack people, you have to be a man about it. don’t worry, we’ll get one of the “budding” guys to teach you how.

i be most appeciative mr mazilla. thanks for the offer and how is you day going hopefully better than yesterday. i new it would be a good idea!

The ideal gym member for a profitable gym is someone who signs up, doesn’t work out, and never quits. This place has it down to a science. I think it is a shame though that other gyms are learning from them.

The point I’m trying to make, and it’s already been made, is that places with stupid rules like these are not for us.

We have people here thinking they know better how to define the market that these facilities are trying to serve and what rules they should put in place, because it meets our preferences.

Sure, I think the so-called gym is misguided, but there’s also places with no weights at all, or places only for women, or dance schools, or all kinds of shit that I don’t go to.

However, unlike the comparison to McD’s, most of the population would be well served to use even one of these candy assed facilities. Society wants to be “in-shape” and they can get there without having to use twice bodyweight squats or deadlifts.

Maybe once they start to get a bit of muscle and less fat they can graduate to a real facility or buy their own equipment so they don’t have to live under someone elses rules.

The McD analogy isn’t a good one, because the food is generally unhealthy. Even the pussified gym is lightyears ahead of what a sedentary couch potato is accomplishing in pissing matches in threads like this.

Your argument that no one should be allowed to critique something that isn’t being forced on them is what’s silly.

You critique American politics all the time, yet you’re not being forced to live in America nor has America invaded your country. Should you then be considered just a whiner? Should you be not allowed to have an opinion about American politics?

I bet you’ve formed opinions about alot of things that no one is forcing upon you.

Guess that makes you a whinner too.
