I didn’t really have this either. I felt weaker in the gym, but not sluggish in general.

I don’t know that I have ever felt energetic in my adult life though aside from when on stimulants.

+1 to this… but at a commercial gym I’m less concerned of falling plates onto the floor. Not sure if this aligns to @throwawayfitness flooring…

I still remember the first time i tried to bench 60kg (135lbs) and got pinned under the bar at about 16. Definately not something i’d ever want with 300lbs on me!
