Throat-Ripping Grip Strength

Cool. I’ll get my 250 and 300 HG’s next week, looking forward to making progress

Strange that “200lbs” is not equal to “200lbs”, though. Any ideas why? Are the CoC’s shorter? Bigger bars?

again like slattimer said, holding strength and squeezing strength are not relative. Both the size of your fingers and the shape of your hand heavily influence both aspects.

So I was watching Rambo the other night and one of the greatest scenes ever in film is when Rambo rips open a bad guys throat. It got me thinking. What would it take to have a grip like that?

Also you have to admit it would be awesome to rip a guys throat out if you had to…or maybe a bear if it attacked you. You never know.[/quote]

Let’s go ahead and file this one under the “urban myths” department.

Even guys that can close the monster grippers like the #4 couldn’t pull this one off. Crushing someone’s throat?.. very possible. Ripping someone’s throat out?.. not unless you’re a vampire or from the netherworld or some other crap like that.

Train your hands with the grippers and just get them stronger and be happy with that. Or train hard enough to get certified by IM like I did. The choice is yours.

Much like “breaking” I would think speed would contribute to any possible success with the throat ripping maneuver. Crushing the larynx (and hyoid bone)would however while less cool, be infinately more plausible.

As far as COC. I am working on the 2.5.(Past parallel but still plenty of light between the handles) I can do triples with the #2 but can currently pull 560. I have a dynamometer (yeah I’m a geek)and I’m just shy of maxing it out at about 198, so I guess the COC grippers are fairly close to what they advertise.

Generally, I do the same stuff everybody else mentions for grip strength.

I’ve ripped some throats out…but not with my hands.

'bout spit out my coffee" Unfortunately you just reminded me of the first time I treated an “alternate lifestyle” male for post paryngeal lacerations and contusions.

“I can hold 850 on a deadlift”

DAYAMMMMM!!

***Just felt that was appropriate to say.

How do you keep a straight(no pun intended) face when someone comes in for treatment and explains how the hell that happened?

They usually lie, at least initially. First time I wasn’t sure what I was looking at, a seasoned PA had to enlighten me(he got the truth out quickly). Seeing all kinds is just part of the job, so you get to where nothing surprises you. You just learn to remain detached.

Some guy at the gym had the Heavy Grippers out and he tossed me the 200 and told me to give it a go. I have a #1 and #2 COC so I asked for the 100 HG to warm up and it was easier than my COC trainer that I used to have. So grabbed the 200 and banged out about 15 reps with my right hand. I can get 3-4 reps with my #2 COC.

Never tried dl holds for time…but I didn’t have any problems holding onto low 500lb DL’s before I effed up my leg. I use a hook grip though so that helps a lot.

I still feel like I have a weak grip though.

I started digging around on the web a couple of weeks ago and ended up with David Hornes beginning program.
Plate Pinches
Finger Curls
Wrist Curls
google it to get the details.

The hand grippers should be an easy exercise to strenghten that muscle between the thumb and fore finger. Mine are pretty good from years of manual labor. I used to do the gripper thing when I was in my teens too. We’d have contests to see who could squeeze a bathroom scale and register the most weight.

The grippers will also help with general forearm development and would also help with the throat ripping feat.

I believe that the actual act would be more mental than physical to overcome. You’d at least take the fight out of someone once you had a lock on their wind pipe.

My sister inlaw was an ER nurse for a spell and worked nights. She’s had guys come in with objects wedged in their asses and one with a vacuum cleaner atachment stuck on his privates. The tip off was thet the guys insisted on seeing a male nurse. Yikes!

I think I suffered a compression fracture dreaming of this last night, thanks bruddah.

Get some clay. Start out with something softer like play-doh
and move to harder clays. Get a good size ball and just grab out chunks. As your speed in ripping out pieces increases go to a stiffer clay. It’s also good for poundimg with your fist, leopard paw strikes, knife edge strikes, elbow strikes, bitch slaps, or whatever. It also gets heavy as the ball grows. Get it to about 18" or so and toss it like a ball. As you catch it drive your finges in.

Its rather simple.
First, start ripping the throats of little infants. When you can easily do 10-15reps on infants then its time to move up to children between the age of 3 to 5-years-old.

Second, when u reach easily 10-15reps then its time to move up to 10-year-old kids. This is when they start getting faster so you’ll get a lot of cardio chasing them.

Third, you keep repeating till you reach 20-year-olds. You start with inactive 20-year-olds.

Finally, when you can do about 5reps then start ripping out the throats of wrestlers because they have very thick necks.

And thats how you do it.

"First, start ripping the throats of little infants.:

Dude, infants don’t have necks. Ever apply a rear naked choke to one? They are totally immune and will kick your ass.

On top of pissing all over you and vomiting on your forearm.

I almost forgot to give a few important tips for you inspiring throat ripper.

1)If you are struggling with infants than you can start at the abortion clinic.
2) If you cant find any infants to rep-out with then a hospital is a good place to start.
3)Offering candy to the kids of age 10 and below can distract them for awhile.
4)chalk. Use it.

If your body doesnt seem to respond to my progressions or you simple dont like it, then you can try the WS4TBs, aka Westside for Throat-ripping Bastards.

WS4TB is just like WS4B. You have max effort days on Monday. On the max effort days you rip out the throats of young wrestlers.
You have rep day on Friday. On those days you rip out throats for reps.

I’ve seen good results from both WS4TB and my progressions so just try them out and adjust according to your own individual needs.
