Three Days A Week Program

Skid, you know I don’t do any exercises with fancy names like pendlay or zercher. Mine are easy:squat, bench, etc. like a caveman or a red neck.[/quote]

I think he makes most of these names up!

You are looking strong, Eco. You might need to check your foot angle when widening your squat stance; I know I did even with my puny weights.

thanks geech.
I took my stance in quite a bit. felt much better but my inner knees still hurt with full squats. I think I got plenty low enough with the narrow stance.

8/22
squat 355x5,385x5,405x5
1/2 squat 455x2
chin 5 sets 10,5,4,3,2
squat(wide stance) 50% max 240 5 sets 10,5,5,5,5
leg curl 5 sets 10 reps 75 lbs

Doesn’t look like much but I was smoked. Had a hard time walking up the steps. The deep squats kill me.

Those wide squats feel really different don’t they? Smokes your ass and adductors until you get used to them.

Since I’m making names up, call the wide squats Van Damme squats. LoL.

Nice session.

whoa baby! nice looking sets there eco!

I’ve yet to be able to do 10 chins straight and I’m not going to even talk about the squats…

On a side note I’ll be 39 for the first time this Sunday. One more year and I can compete in the masters. I think this calls for copious beer drinking.

Cheers!

Still a kid. You’re not grown up till you’re 45.

Happy birthday Big E. I hope you have many more and all of them happy.

Best wishes, Eco, and many happy returns!

39!!! Wait til puberty hits, it’s a bitch. Have a good one and many more.

Happy Birthday.Your gonna dig competing at the masters 1.

80% 85% 90% 3 reps week

stiff leg deads 240x10,8,6,5,5

It wasn’t the week to max dead but I had to try 500 because 430x3 went up so easily. I used my belt with 500.

Niiiiceeee pullin’ Eco! Sometimes you just gotta go for it!

Congrats on the PR Eco. That’s a helluva strong deadlift!

Good lifting! Congrats on the PR and good follow up with the rest of your work out.

Well, yeah - sure, with a belt…

Just kiddin’ Damned good pullin, eco! Strike while the iron is green. Or something like that.

Thank you guys. I hope by the meet to add 10 lbs or more to this.

I can’t imagine pulling the numbers bigjames pulls or hels best deadlift-both over 650 lbs. And Doc clean and jerking 420 lbs is crazy weight.

I was just reading Colins thread about 500 lb bench or cut up. I’ve kinda picked in between. Eating well and not drink to many beers and let the body weight fall where it may.

I’m still 254 lbs…I won’t be making the 242 class like I wanted. I tried to be real strict recently and felt tired and was grumpy. I just don’t eat the junk like I was.

Eat healthy and let the chips, as it were, fall where they may, Eco – sounds reasonable to me, especially wth the way you are moving the weights these days.
