I know I havent been on in quite a while, Im not sure why I just couldnt bring my self to get on the key board. Sorry bout that.
Still I thought for those of you who knew about him, “The Great Gray Horse” Gray Hunley finally lost his battle with cancer. I wish every one of you could have met the man, no insult intended, but every one would have walked away the better for it. He passed real peaceful in his home with his kids(me included)by his side.
Actually it wasnt the cancer it was the after effects of the chemo, He just couldnt recover. Though Hes Home now, Ill miss him dearly till I get there.
I am so sorry to hear that. My thoughts and prayers are with you and Gray’s family.
And I am truly thankful that they have you as a brother and friend to help them through this.
You know, besides his family(and later the Lord) his one and only consistent true love was weight lifting.
He told me the story how as a young boy(17) in Ohio he was a typical 98lb(127 I think) weakling. His buddies talked him into going to the “Gym”. He walked in and it was a Boxing Gym. He said he stood there and hated it. He saw some stairs and asked “Whats up there?”. His pals said just weights. He thought Ill go up there and look around while Im waiting. He said when I got up the stairs “BAAM I WAS IN LOVE”.
I had the honor of sharing that through out my life, but most importantly the last work outs of his life.
Ill never forget watching him walk up to a loaded bar(300), in my front yard, I think it was his third work out back after a year off and pull it! Who said 75(181 lb)is old?
